Google's destruction is already under way (for all webmasters and worldwide IM'ers!)

On many internet forums you can read the following:

"People get sick of Google's cat and mouse game that ruin any business. The support for Google from webmasters for years is NOW definitely dead.

We can hurt google more than anyone else.

Imagine how many members own websites and imagine the number of traffic that goes trough all those websites each day, each year.

If all of us launches a campaign against google and all of us direct our websites visitors towards using different search engines such as Bing, with the power of banners, story lines, accusations, blocking Google bot wit Robots.txt and don't use Adsense etc. Google will experience a devastating effect that has a huge chance of going viral trough the whole world.

The major issue with Google is not their business, it's their bad relationship and arrogance with the ones providing their basis: webmasters and worldwide IM'ers.

Don't forget the fact that many other forums WORLDWIDE will follow our example and do the same."

(Read before you post: This was not my own idea! As mentioned above, I have found it on some internet forums and espacialy on FREENET).

I think that Google will be ok regardless of what they do. They are the best search engine on the planet. Nobody even comes close.

No, marketers are getting sick of the cat and mouse game. The whole reason the cat and mouse game exists is because Google's users are tired of the crappy marketers.

No you can't. Losing their users would certainly hurt though. People can say what they want about boycotting adwords; but the sad truth is that for every one of you that drop out, two more marketers are waiting to jump in. This will hold true as long as Google keeps their results at the top of their game.

You do that, and let me know how it turns out . All the real marketers are going to focus on their businesses and driving traffic from relevant sources instead of trying (unsuccessfully) to bring down another business because they won't spoon feed you traffic.

Their readers provide their base. Without them, there is no reason to have advertisers. Marketers who fill up their ad spaces are a dime a dozen. New "marketers" come into the game every day. You're replaceable. Users though? If Google alienates them, they aren't getting them back. Without the users, there is no money. Remember that.

LOL! Someone must have really got themselves bitch-slapped by Google. Remember, however, that Google is not just a search engine. This is a small fraction of its revenue.

Call me crazy but I think that IM'ers are probably a pretty small percentage of Google users and even if we did "direct our websites visitors towards using different search engines" I'm pretty sure the old Goog wouldn't even notice.

As far as blocking Googlebot, they'd probably love it if you did that with all your spammy sites. They don't want them in the index anyway.

Google like any company is bound to make mistakes. I think in the near future we're going to see a decline for the sole reason of Google showing themselves to be anti-SEO. They WANT people only in PPC. Google makes NOTHING when you SEO a site, however when you use PPC they make money.

The only problem with your plan is that a lot of the people that actually have the power in these forums are making money from Google.

Why would I boycott a company that pays me thousands of dollars every month?

Because other bad marketers don't know how to follow the rules...

There is no "cat and mouse game" - the mice are doing fine. It's the rats that find themselves in danger.

The major issue that most marketers have with Google is that they are arrogant enough to believe that they are entitled to receive traffic and customers from Google.

Google probably needs an infusion of new people into Google Adwords. They probably have the same companies pouring money in every month. Notice how they give away those $50 AdWords new account signup things? They're always desperate for more adwords customers and that's the true reason for almost everything they do.

    I honestly think they fabricate erroneous errors in Google Places in order to push people to use Adwords. Here's an example of what I get on one of my "verified" google places page;

Why would I want to join a campaign against Google when it delivers most of my traffic and generates a good chunk of my revenue? If you build quality content without spamming the indexes then you have little to worry about
