So I have a basic idea here to add like 5-10 quick backlinks to each post each time I put one up on my nich/authority site. Whats the best way to do it?

Just find like 10 realated sites that let me leave comments and go post with the link?

Directories?

Social? Twitter, Facebook, linked-in???

What do you think??

Social is obvious for blog posts. Directory links to blog posts will look very artificial.

My site offers teacher lesson plans and resources. Any other suggestions?

If the posts are more 'evergreen' than news, the niche directories that are completely related should be okay.

Next up, hit the relevant forums and 'High PR' blogs and leave comments. Also do the Twitter and Facebook shuffle.

Don't be obsessed about getting all 'dofollow' links either. Mix it up and don't build too many links at once. If the site is very new it's better to just build a few daily like anyone with a genuine interest in the subject would do. In other words, resist the urge to 'overdo' it.

How do I know if something is do follow?

The above posted toolbars are great.

Another way to look for decent dofollow links is to look for websites running the "keywordLuv" plugin for wordpress. This allows you to place dofollow comments on various websites. Works great!

So do you think that only blog comment would help or should I use multiple methods of building links to any website?

Always use multiple methods. Blog comments won't be enough. Distribute quality content on web 2.0s, article directories, blogs. Then backlink those properties. Do not use crappy content. If you do, I promise you, you will be wasting your time and money.

I've found the RSS directories like feedage.com are a great way to make sure your posts get a nice bed of backlinks, and when you're commenting/blogging if you split backlinks between your feed directories and your actual post (like let the commentluv sites link to your post and on non-commentluv sites link to your page in a feed directory) you should see some SEO benefits.

On the contrary, I've performed multiple tests over the last year that indicate RSS feeds are pretty inneffective at this point. They don't effectively index links, they don't help websites rank, they don't have major SEO benefit. Content works, web 2.0s work. articles work, home page backlinks still work. RSS feeds, forum profiles? Do not work.
