I just recieved a dreaded "unnatural links" message in my GWT 3 days ago.
It's so hard to explain what the sense of getting this message is when one reads it for the first time.

This is so like the case when a doctor verifies you of having a cancer in your body. So scary and so unexpected. Just feeling no hopes and destined to die as soon as the deadline approches. I have seen with my own eyes what happened to my competitors when they got that dreaded message. And now this is my time.

I'm owner of a company with several employees working for me. Our revenue is based entirely on online visitors. This is the nature of our business and we have no more choice.

I have just opened this thread to get some feedback from warriors who recieved this "unnatural links" message from Google.

I want to hear from you warriors that recieved this message and still survived. What did you have done to your site that solved the problem?
Is there anyone here that just recieved the message and still have a ranking site? Or is this a destined to death message from google?

Please kindly share you comments. I aprreciate all your comments.

Cancer is a lot worse than a message in Google Webmaster Tools.

Humans have indomitable wills. They can overcome starvation, torture, and physical hardships that are incomprehensible.

Surely, your little 'business' which is made up of humans can recover from something as trivial as a penalty from Google.

You need to try to remove the unnatural links and then apply for a reconsideration. It can and has been done.

What link building have you been doing?

Have you used a link building company? If so, get on to them straightaway and tell them to sort it out...

      Good luck!

We have done some SEO to our site but the last attemp dates back to 5 months ago. I have done nothing to our site in recent months.

How can I go through more than 900.000 links and check who links to me or even the worse contact them to remove our links?

We have never used scapebox or xrummer in the past. Never used automated or software campaign.

More than 1000 TLD domains and near to 2800 web2.0 blogs (no network, real owner) from approximately 60 TLD domains are linking to us. How can we get through them and ask them to remove the links? That's simply impossible.

Email Google and tell them that you had hired an SEO company a few months back and basically explain what you just did. Its worth a shot. Sometimes Google does have a heart. Its rare but it does happen.

You do the crime, you do the time.

People seem to keep forgetting that

I didn't get the notice, but that's because I'm not signed up for any of Google's services. I did use BMR on two of my websites so I'm pretty sure that Google would have sent me one if they could. My website was slapped on April 14, not during the Penguin update. So I think it was due to the unnatural links. One of my websites is completely unaffected and my better website has been slaughtered.

I know that I shouldn't take it personally, but it really upset me. That website represented a lot of hopes and dreams for me. I worked on it everyday for 8 months. I It was finally starting to see good traffic when Google slapped it down. I think that I am too emotionally attached to this website. I won't be making that mistake again.

I felt like Google killed someone I loved. I haven't been able to sleep more than a few hours straight in 2 weeks. When I wake up, the first thing I do is run to check my stats to see if the website is back. I know this sounds over-the-top dramatic, but I'm in a horrendous situation right now and I thought that this website would help me pull out of it.

So I know how you are feeling.

I did know that there was a risk using BMR, but it seemed more legitimate than other methods of spam/backlinking. I was unlucky enough to sign up with BMR less than a month before they went down. I guess now I've got to pay the price for my sin.

After you get this message there isn't much you can do. It is "believed" that they sent out these messages some weeks back so people would reveal what networks they were a part of and getting their backlinks from.

All you can do is sit and wait. Writing google isn't going to help much...sorry.

All I did was ignore them.

I think you are right. Now I'm starting over with new sites. Once I read about the situation with the BMR blogs being deindexed, I knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before I was penalized.

I'm not planning on writing to Google and begging for mercy. I heard it doesn't help anyway.

      Thanks Omar.
Is your site still ranking? or have you seen drop in ranking or traffics?
I want to know how long ago you did recieve the message and still having traffics.
