My site or more specifically page I am trying to rank has jumped to PR1 overnight with the penguin update. It was PR0 before BUT it was position 31 and now position 49! IS this google dance, anyone experienced this before? Will it settle higher? Thanks

Pagerank and actual rank have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I have PR3-4 sites that have no visibility at all. At the same time, I have PR1 sites with great visibility.

Listen to this and take it to heart. Getting a higher page rank is incredibly easy if you know what you are doing. I see a site that is #1 for one of my KW and it is a PR 0 and has 12 back links. We are in a new age and if you keep using things that worked last month you will never advance your site. This new update is all about anchor diversity and relevancy not PR, plain and simple.

PR does not equal to SERP. If you did crappy offpage seo, you won't rank on Page 1 & won't last till the next google update even if you manage to bring your site to Page 1.

See how many warriors dropped in their rankings during this google update.

I understand but I have recently done some high pr blog comments. I think I will have to get more intense with my strategy over the next couple of months

Pagerank and SERPs are totally different ranking. A high page rank can affect SERPs, but that's all

Lol dont worry about it bro. It would be better to wait till exams are over so we can assess the situation better. Im trying to get scrapebox to harvest high pr in the meantime but anytime that takes time will be after exams

Not been hit yet, although a client went down. Whats your content like? Most of the websites that suffered the most had pretty poor content.

This is not necessarily true. My site has 1000's of pages of unique good content. I know this since I am an architect and I sell my house plans online. And they are all unique. I assume my site would be considered good quality since I have unique content that people would want to search out. I obviously fell a lot. I think the main reason being too high KW anchor text and BMR. This update is way more about inbound links than any thing else. There is a site that is #1 for one of my KW that has a grand total of 15 back links and probably 10% of my content. So figure me that one Batman.

Luckily I get the majority of my business offline and this really has not affected me too greatly, I do feel for all the people that this update has affected though. I am thinking about scrapping my site and starting over with my old domain that has 2 back links and is 11 years old.

Unique good content won't make your site penguin-proof if your offpage seo is crap. And as you stated in your link building strategy, BMR is one of them.

KW density plays a role too in your drop. You also might want to check on your page loading speed.

All of my content on my site is unique. I have got professionally written content and nothing is copied. I am going to do more forms of SEO such as article submission, social bookmark etc in a few weeks time. I think some HPBL would help me
