Hi all, just looking for abit of advice really.
I have just completed my new site (see sig for details) and looking for the safest ways to backlink and get my website ranking well.
I intend to add fresh content to the blog every day and have the All in one seo plug-in, like people recommended in another thread which I use to optimize every post.

Now on to backlinking, here's what I was intending to do
Blog comments
forum posting
social bookmarking
article submissions
I am aiming to do about 5-10 backlinks a day varying which backlinks I use.

The backlinks will be directed to the homepage where the blog is but should I also be backlinking the individual posts aswell.

Am I going about this the right way, is there anything else you would add to that. And thanks in advance for any tips you may have.

Start slow and build daily backlinks, don't go blasting out using automated software programs.

You want and need "Niche related" backlinks and to diverse your backlinks through multiple sources.

A good technique at the minute is to use WEB 2.0's with unique content and then linking from that content to your site. Then building backlinks to the web 2.0's which are then being used as a kind of buffer to protect your sites if google penalizes you for bad backlinks.

The methods you are using can help you a lot if you make backlinks for your domain using them from authority websites and they can be good enough in this case. I know many websites that are ranking in top results by following your simple method but they only make backlinks for their websites through powerful sites and it can help them a lot. I suggest you to follow your current steps for some months and also you can use social networking sites to making more visitors for your website too.

submit content to article sites, web2.0 sites, wordpress article sites and social bookmark all of them. daily 10/20 backlinks are fine because your site is new.

If you are adding new contents everyday then your blog is dynamic, so you can set a static page for your website and link building for that page... Otherwise you can start link building for your homepage.

    Congrats for your new site.

Your target is good. But remember quality of backlink is more important than quantity. Make backliks manually such that it seems natural.

Wow...great ideas from all of you...
    What I did was
    1. to write and submit unique articles to directories like ezinearticles and articlebase or amazines
    2. Post classified ads on craiglist.org or classifiedAds.com or ebay
    3. Submit press release on sites like PRFree.com or PRLeap
    4. Submite slides on slideshare.net
    5. Social Bookmark your links on e.g. del.icio.us and digg.com

    cheers & all the best,

Hi all, sorry to bump this thread back up but have a few more questions if possible.
    1) I am after abit more info on web 2.0's. How many web 2.0's are you guys making per site & do you add new content to the web 2.0 once you have made it.
    2) I am not sure what would be best for my site income wise adsense or Amazon so was thinking of running both on my site untill I can get some reading on which one does better for me. would that be a problem running 2 different ads ect on my site.

Once again massive thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

  • Hi Wizzykid123. Found below are the steps I suggest, which I also extensively discussed in this rather lengthy post which I wrote on my blog...

    • STEP ONE: Onsite Content Development for Google Penguin Sub Component Called the Freshness Update - Regularly post new unique and relevant content on your site. Then:

    • STEP TWO: Social Community Marketing for Google Penguin Sub Component That Now Values Contextual Relevance More - Find contextually relevant discussion pages, under contextually relevant categories/sections, of contextually relevant Web forums and social networks/groups, with large regular readership and active membership and mailing list subscriber bases, comprised of people included in your target viewers. Contribute useful and relevant info and advice in those pages. Use diverse keywords as anchors of links pointing to the newly posted content on your site, in an effort to provide those viewers with supplemental content containing useful and relevant info and advice not found in those discussion pages and in your own content contributions. Next:

    • STEP THREE: Content Syndication - Submit your newly posted onsite content, as is, to contextually relevant ezine networks and content syndication channels with large publisher networks comprised of webmasters regularly looking for useful and relevant content they can publish on their sites, for the benefit of their regular viewers, active members and mailing list subscribers. You'll get traffic and onpage links in contextually relevant pages, under contextually relevant categories/sections, of a diverse set of contextually relevant sites, and those webmasters and their viewers could most likely power up the links in your syndicated content on those sites, since they'll naturally build backlinks to your syndicated content. Then:

    • STEP FOUR: Guest Authoring/Guest Blogging/Guest Posting - Contact webmasters of contextually relevant sites with high authority in your niche and large regular readership, active membership and mailing list subscriber bases. Strike a mutually beneficial arrangement with them, with you developing unique and relevant content for publication on their sites and email newsletters, in exchange for onpage text links and banner ads. You'd get traffic and quality onpage links in diverse, contextually relevant sites. Next:

    • STEP FIVE: Info Product Development to Get Affiliates - Develop a written guide or tutorial or video course that'd be useful for the relevant needs and problems of your target viewers. Post this for sale on your site, and integrate an opt-in form in your order form, so buyers can subscribe to your mailing list. Post this as an affiliate product in various affiliate networks. Offer a 90% or more commissions percentage, to entice more people to become your affiliates. Also include a handbook that can help affiliates to learn the best practices they can implement, for efficiently promoting your product and for them to earn more affiliate commissions. You'd get others promoting your product and your site and populating your mailing list subscriber base with buyer traffic. What else?

If you don't have money for private PPC/PPV/PPM and solo email ad campaigns, you can try offering your content development services, in exchange for these advertising arrangements, or other things, such as beer or kind words. If you're based in North America and don't have enough money for search and social network PPC advertising, then:

You can get a $10/mo or so hosting plan from a hosting company offering $100 or more of free Google Adwords PPC credits and $50 or more of free Yahoo! PPC credits with their hosting plans. You can search for Facebook coupon codes to get up to $250 of free Facebook PPC credits. Use these free PPC credits to initially test and improve your search and social network PPC ad campaigns, then to promote your products and site...

From my point of view, what I can say is, yes you are at correct path. It will be better if you can get links to your inner pages like blog comments, Use various anchor text to get links to your home page, Better to go for web 2.0 sites to get more backlinks....
