WordPress and Google Updates

I just received another email from someone touting a "Panda Beater" software package. Oh my.....

Its marketing message was obviously targeting newbie marketers who don't have a clue what the Panda update might mean for their Internet marketing future.

Basically, it was promoting an HTML site building package that was supposed to eliminate all the "flaws" in WordPress which would be hammered by Panda. (It alluded to the duplicate content issues that can occur in a default WP install.....but of course those are easily fixed and/or avoided.)

I thought I'd start this thread and ask:

1. What are your favorite, Panda-Friendly plugins?
2. Which plugins or WordPress techniques might be very Panda-UNfriendly?
3. Do you have any comments or questions about using WordPress in today's post Panda Google world?

I'm by no means a Panda expert but I'll give my two cents. First of all - aren't we on to "Penguin" now? I know Panda is still affecting people but my thinking is why try to use all these tactics that are Panda/Penguin killers? I'm working on getting back to basics...providing quality content, not using automated linking tools, getting a following by trying to invoke comments on articles and using other social indicators.

    The answers to your questions:

    1) I've really started to like: WordPress SEO by Yoast. I like it better than All in One SEO. Sociable is another good one for social sites. I'm still using Google XML Sitemaps

    2) Anything used for spammy/crummy content. Autoblogging, Automated Backlinks.

    3) I think there's nothing wrong with using Wordpress. As far as I know and everything I've seen, Google still really likes Wordpress. Plus if you think about the sheer number of Wordpress sites out there, including a lot of big name blogs and sites, I don't think the platform will ever be an issue. It's the way you use it.
