OK I have My Keywords, How Do I Get The Ads?

I thought I read somewhere that we can influence or suggest the keywords we want google to use when choosing ads to place on our site for adsense.

I understand that google will look at the content of the post/page/blog and use that to place the ads but I want to know what i can do to get the keywords I'm trying to get ads for on my sites.

I have done the keyword research and there are the "main/normal" keywords that I believe google will use for the ads but i have also found the long-tail keywords that have a much higher cpc that I want to have shown on my blog because of huge increase in pay per click.

Any help with this will be appreciated as i have not done any adsense marketing before, thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Do you really think Google is going to let you change the words around on your page to get only high CPC ads to show?

You can ban specific ads or site but you aren't going to be able to effect the ads that are displayed any more than that.

Not to mention, users who are logged into their Google account will be shown ads targeted specifically for them that have nothing to do with the page they're on. I always get ads for name.com right now. Other people get different ads with different values.

No I don't think google will let me choose the words.

      That's not what I asked.

I know that google chooses the words from the content on the page and the url.

I was asking if there is a way to give google adsense our "suggestions" as I thought I read somewhere that this was possible.

Google changes things a lot and has just changed the adsense interface.

I'm asking if there is any other way to influence what ads are shown besides on page keyword optimization.

I'm looking for ways to optimize on the adsense side of things.

If we could choose the ads ourselves I would already be rich from building mesothelioma blogs.

      Thanks for trying anyways.

I don't do much Adsense anymore but if I'm building a new site that runs it I don't really worry about the CPC so much because Google makes up their own mind about what ads to show a lot of the time.

So I just focus on keywords that you can get easy traffic from and there are lots of advertisers in the market. Larger sites if necessary. Nothing is worse than getting the default ads that Google puts up when no advertisements are available.

Getting 700-1000 views a day with 12 clicks at .30 a click isn't tons of money, a couple bucks, but with a couple dozen sites it starts to add up. I see a lot of people on here trying to build sites with like 1000 uniques a month per keyword. I don't know how you can make anything with that.

Before starting a site look at the ads your competition are getting on their sites. Do you think your audience would click them? If yes its worth pursuing. CPC doesn't matter as much as are the ads something your views will click.

You can always block ads from websites that have lower CPC....

I can't remember the exact way to do it though I remember seeing it on the forum about a year back

Don't forget that ads are not only relevant to your content they are relevant to your user (or yourself if your refreshing), AdSense tracks your wants and what you have been looking at for months at a time, then they use this to provide ads relevant to you. Also the AdSense spiders are going to heavily rely on h2's and h3's in your code.

    Cheers,

    -Jason

Edit: To see if my above writing is correct visit your site through a fresh US based proxy, you will see ads relevant to your header tags.

Several things affecting which ads will appear on your site:

    1. keywords you use in posts
    2. country where the visitors are from
    3. age and strength of your website

You can also turn off interest based ads and third party ads in adsense interface.

This is all you can do about which ads will appear on your site.
