Hi,

Do you know where can I find a software/tool that I can use to convert text (.txt) file into a HTML/PHP webpage instantly with just a few mouse clicks?

Free & paid tools are both welcomed.

Thanks.

    Hi ebuyer123,

How much functionality do you want this proggie to have?

Would the text file contain formating info (like BOLD, links etc)

When you refer to PHP, what specific bits of PHP do you have in mind?

The reason I ask, is that I might have something that could be of help, but it depends on what you want to achieve..

    Take care

    Bruce

      Hi, Bruce

As long as it can convert a txt file into a html or php webpage.
My hosting uses php 4 and above. So I think this is what you mean of the the php bit, right?

Most of the txt files do not contain formating info, but it will be nice if your tool can do this sort of thing.

Could you please PM me for further details you have (i.e. price, features, etc.)?

Many thanks for answering my post..

      Regards,

the most basic method would be to use MS Word - i wouldnt use it personally as the output source code is poor...

    but if you must:

    1) open your txt file with Word
    2) click on file -> save as...
    3) select file type as webpage (*.htm)

I mean something SLIGHTLY different from html editor. I use Dreamweaver html editor version 8/9, but then I need to copy & paste the text into the editor before I can save the page as html/php page.

I know a tool/software that can convert Microsoft Words (.doc) into text (.txt) file format. You only need to type in the doc file name and the software will then automatically convert the doc file into a txt file.

What I am asking here is a tool/software that can covert txt file into html/php file WITHOUT having to COPY & PASTE whatsoever thing. So...is there any tool like this available in the market??

I am pretty sure that you will still need to copy & paste when using Xsitepro, am I right?!

      Thanks.

If all you need is to display the txt file without SEO optimization, then there is actually no need convert the text file to html. HTML is actually a text file, so most browser have the capability to display text file.

If you just rename a text file with a .html extension, the web browser will treat it as html and collapse all the whitespace, making the text hard to read. If that is the case, just add a <pre> tag at the beginning of the file, and everything will show up nicely formatted (like in a text editor).

If you leave the file with a .txt extension, the browser will treat is a text file and will not collapse the whitespace.

But if you need the HTML to be also SEO optimized, then what I just said will not work.

Look at my WSO in my sig and it will be exactly what you are looking for. You'll just need to edit one file for your website information and affiliate IDs, put your article text files in a folder named "articles" then upload everything to your server. It's just a couple of KBs so it means it is very light and I assume it's very fast to upload too!
