Dont be an idiot like me.

I got an email message from google saying they noticed I had un-natural backlinks going to one of my sites and so they de-indexed the whole thing. There are many others out there experiencing the same thing at the moment.

I got most of my backlinks from fiverr and from the wso area. I doubt most of the wso packages I purchased would have gotten me into trouble seeing as they where to be embedded within blogs and articles and what not. But seriously be careful.

The only thing im pissed about is the fact that google dont even tell me specifics. They have done similar stuff for a long time. Its like how do you want me to fix what im apparently doing wrong if you dont tell me what it is im doing wrong.

Its like a cop giving you a ticket for 'breaking the law' but then not telling you what law you broke and what you should have avoided.

They did the same thing to me with my adwords account...

Be very careful.
This could literally ruin your business. Lucky for me this was just a hobby blog.

Thanks.

p.s. Google can go climb a tree

Adsense/PPC/SEO Discussion Forum would be a great place for this.

There are plenty of threads there too where they are wondering/whining/wildly gesticulating about the same things. It's a bundle of fun down there .

I don't know why people get so caught up in the xrumer/scrapebox mega backlinks crap.

Um, because humans invariably take what they think is the easy way out?

Until the SEO (and WF) culture changes, Fiverr backlink gigs will still sell like MegaMillions lottery tickets.

All im saying is that it would be good for google to tell me why they de-indexed the site and pointing me in the right direction instead of saying I have un-natural links pointing to my site.

That's like a cop saying "excuse me sir we noticed you driving too fast, here is a ticket and a suspension of your license"
me "can you tell me where I was driving like this and how fast I was going, I mean what was the speed limit anyway?"
        cop "Dont ask questions SLAVE!"

Its the how not the way.

Clearly this shows google is not looking for a quality experience for their users otherwise they would be explaining which links where un-natural.

This poses another great question: does this mean I can easily take out my competition by purchasing 100 bucks worth of fiverr backlinks and pointing them to his site?

    LOL...

This "I hate Google" VERSUS "Loser, cause you used paid backlinks" still going on?

@Andrei, two words for you, and I know you won't take this personally, cause it's just part of the game: **** happens.

@Joe, I assume you (repeatedly) never made a bunch of money in 2 months using paid backlinks - but listen, not everyone else has to be like you. Fair enough?

Now, for all the hatters, again, my words for you:

When big companies, small companies, private webmasters, pro's and rookies use PAID backlinks to gain rankings in Google over your site, you have two options:

1 - Make peanuts and go happy with it, waiting for a Google miracle.
2 - Buy a better "formula", make huge amounts of money, go happy for 2-3 months, and then get angry for 2-3 weeks.

    Fair? Not really.
There are exceptions? You can bet on that. You know them, I know them.
Will it end? Don't know, don't care. My business is NOT based on rankings.

Note: Google allows this to happen: the paid links and the angry mobs.

And for those STILL saying this last update "cleaned" the rankings out of "evil" guys... you really need a reality check outside your comfort zone. 8 out of 10 niches I check everyday have more of the same - just different sites.

Personally, I see more deep problems with Google right now - and you can bet slaps is NOT one of them. Their overall attitude towards IM'ers, affiliates, small biz's is what makes me re-think a lot about this business.

Anyway, just wishing you all a nice week. With Google, without Google, etc etc. Take care.

I'm beginning to love the egg metaphor. But, yes, Google totally owns the internet right now and, unfortunately, some clients demand from their contractors that their site be ranked on Google because, I'll repeat it again, it owns the internet.

Even if other people are silently praying that another search engine will beat Google, it will still follow suit with the big G.

          Hi all

I dont have much of a life apart from working, gym, wifey, baby, and beer so I decided to read every post...

          OK here is the thing.

          The mighty always fall.

Always. And if they are arrogant mother f**kers like the goo gaa seem to be. Then they fall even harder, and it feels even better for all of the little villagers they have ever stomped on.

Yes I used paid links. But ill tell you what, that blog had some of the best god damned content in its niche, it was all natural home cooked content that I whipped together myself! I mean, I was friggin drunk half the time I wrote thats s**t, thats how real it was, I updated that thing daily! And ill tell you what else, that blog had over 1k natural facebook likes!

And on top of goo gaa black holing my site and not telling me what for I then realize the amount of giant million dollar sites that buy links!

The best part about all this? I have a wicked evil plan to get goo gaa back!

And no im not releasing a WSO. I dont sell WSO's (reminder to self, delete last sentence when future self is up s**t creek).

          Thanks.

Hold up - all my life I got it wrong. I thought people got drunk to have a good time and escape problems not so they could make things more real.

Anyway OP you can't blame Google. They always said those things were wrong as far as they were concerned. If you didn't know then blame the people selling you that stuff that knew better.

I'm sorry about your luck. You can't cry that it not fair about getting an unnatural linking notice whn you admitted you used paid links. The analogy of being arrested for a traffic violation without being told doesn't quite cut it. When I have been pulled over for speeding, I know I was speeding. You knew paid links were a no no. Who cares who else is doing it, you got caught.

As far as getting Google back...my guess is Google will end up winning.
Learn the rules of the game, play by them, risk palyng on the edge and bending them. Regardless, it is Google's arena, Google's rules, and Google's officiating crew refereeing the game. Like it, or leave it.

Google does not own the Internet right now. They pretty much own the search engine traffic, but in the big picture, that's less than 10% of over all internet traffic. Some research firms have it at a lower number than that.

But I can relate to Andrei's pain since many, many years ago I was soley reliant on traffic from Google, Yahoo and MSN (before it went to Bing). A few algo changes later and I got pounded, lost a good chunk of my income. From that day I swore I would build a business that wouldn't just survive without Google, but would thrive.

There's plenty of traffic inventory out there ready to be bought by marketers like us. There are also ways to build your own list and network without having to rely on Google (content syndication and free publicity are two prime examples of this); and yes, social media and networks are very effective ways to build your own network of traffic visitors to your websites / blogs.

      Quoted for friggin truth.

You bought manipulative links from fiverr and WSOs and you're pissed at Google? What do you want them to tell you? You ALREADY know what links have triggered the message. You ALREADY admitted what you did wrong.

If Google gave you exact details for why they sent you a negative message about links, every person on earth would be milking the SERPs for all it has to offer, guaranteed.

People test Google non-stop to see what they can get away with, that's part of SEO (testing). The differance between testing the SERPs & Google handing you the answer on a silver platter is, not everyone will figure out what's needed to rank a page in the SERPs on their own (supply & demand (Google it)).

A lot of people in SEO have sites setup to push Google to the limits, If Google told everyone what they are doing wrong/right, well, what's in it for Google? The answer is nothing.

Anyone that takes the SERPs personal, should leave SEO ASAP, find another source of traffic.

Anyone that hasn't already diversified their traffic, well that's your own fault, deal with it or give up on IM.

        • B: Startup their own Cola empire & sell the product for less than Coca-Cola

If Google hands you everything you need, Google would be history before the day was over.

Again, people test Googles algo. to see how far they can push SEO. Google knows this, there's a video here on WF of Google reps. talking about the cat/mouse SEO testing.

          I've ranted for months:

Anyone who turns their website over to the knuckleheads
on fiverr must be named Moe, Larry, or Curly.

How much do you value your website?

          Nothing personal...

If anyone is dumb enough to turn their website over
to strangers, on fiverr no less, or a ton of those
clowns doing wso's, how can you turn around and
call google dumb? For what? Record profits?

    Hello,

The logic from the original post is: I did 2 types of back linking. Fiverr and WSO. WSOs could not have caused me problems so it must have been fiverr. I understand the logic, but the big G is not always logical. Case in point. Look at the serps for many popular KWs. The top results are absolutely baffling. Was the latest Algo really to make the user experience better? and if so, is it better?

I have several sites that got slammed by the algo update, almost as many shot up the rankings. And guess what? For these sites I used Fiverr gigs exclusively!

Over the last few months, I tested several gigs. I put the ones that I thought were good on a list. Every new site that I turned up, I used the same gigs on that list. Some got crushed, others went up? Is it really Fiverr? Or something else?

I don't know the answer, but from my own experience I come up with one thing. Create your site and drive traffic to it as if Google did not exist! If G loves my site, then great, I will get that much traffic. But to count solely on G is a disaster waiting to happen. There are many that will argue with me on this point. their arguments will probably valid too.

But if we don't rely solely on those coveted 10 places on page 1, and we learn to drive traffic in other ways...... Look around this amazing forum. SEO is not the only way to drive traffic......

For all that watched Braveheart I can only think of one word " Frreeeeedoooooom"

Interesting indeed, sorry to hear that happened to you. No wonder people are now suggesting to simply eliminate Google webmaster tools and analytics from your sites. Google will snoop around your site and say that you have unnatural links pointing to you but this may all be a master plan to get you to reveal the links you have been using.

This is what happened to people and they ended up revealing BMR and there goes BMR out of business. Really incredible indeed that Google was able to pull this off. There are so many theories and opinions that it can really drive you crazy.

One thing is for sure, if you don't have to give Google a way to snoop around your site then simply don't do it.

When you think about it, why do they give you access to all these powerful free tools?

What do you think is the catch?

    Exactly...

everybody is buying links... especially if we make clear that leads are the same links or thinking about adwords

don't worry - the policy of Google is that they will remove the ban on your website after 30 days and you will start climbing back to the place where you were few days ago.

but you can say goodbye to your adsense account.

I'm more irritated by the terrible results I've got from WSOs than I'm from Fiverr. Fiverr you expect to be garbage. It's $5. But these WSOs have pages of glowing reviews and I've spent a lot of money on them. I'm still getting links from some of them now.. that I'm pretty sure are doing me more harm than good. Very frustrating in a way. But I have learned my lesson: Good reviews on an WSO are absolutely meaningless.
