We have created a beautiful SEO friendly site for a company which deals with port infrastructure, transportation, ships, logistics etc (everything related to managing a port). I've no clue where to start the link building for this industry. To be honest even wondering what creative content we can write for this industry. It'd be of great help if anyone can vouch for some useful tips or strategy etc. Feedbacks are appreciated.

I have an strategy for link building:
    1-Social media sites: Facebook, twitter.
2-Forced Link Building through DoFollow Blog Commenting: NOT SPAMMING but real commenting on niche blogs. This works flawlessly.
3-Participation on communities such as forums.
4-Promotion via videos on video hosting sites such as youtube
5-Requesting backlinks from other niche sites
6-Start a blog as part of the website. Great content will actively attract natural links.

Thanks for your response Nikomaster. Neither there is good number of relevant blogs nor there is good number of relevant forums to post useful comments in this industry. Requesting backlinks from related sites are not fruitful because most of the relevant sites are not owned by owners. Even writing creative contents for this industry (port management, infrastructure etc) is leading to dead end. Looking for more off-page optimization strategies for this industry. If anyone can vouch for other strategies it'd be of great help for me.
