Ranking a Clickbank site (getting it back to #2)

So we had a CB site in the top for about a year or so and made good and constant sales.

But as CB site, the homepage is a static sales page. We tried to pack useful info into it that the spiders find relevant quality content.

Now, it's gone. Like so many others.

What would you do to get back?

- Forget the homepage and focus on ranking Blog posts from inside the domain?

- Getting the rank back over better links?

- Any other smart idea?

    Interesting topic. I have always felt that they would eventually penalize pitch pages.. as they are not big resources.... and my site just got hit by Penguin... I think above the fold navigation is key or at least will be in future.

    Did your site get hit by Penguin?

      Yes, we dropped due to Penguin.

      The earlier updates hit us too but we came back to the first page after a few days, but this time it looks a bit worse.

      As mentioned, we don't have a "normal" site, what's most probably the problem. A sales page is not what Google likes to see I guess.

      By the way, if you wish you can take a look at it over qbuniversity.org

      We have all menu links at the bottom, no outbound links other then to Google+ and Facebook.

      I'm a bit lost to be honest. Don't know if I should change the homepage to get back, don't know if that will change something or not.

      I'd like to get some feedback from people in a similar position, or who have a clue what I could do in this case.

    I would add/change the content, build some high quality backlinks that are diverisfied including the anchor text and drive traffic from multiple places
