Scared of getting penalized by G. Creating a seperate page for each product
- SEO |
I have a fairly large and authoritative site/blog that brings in almost all of my revenue through the sale of different services. I want to do some link building for certain products and services that I offer, but I am nervous that if G decides to penalize my site, my entire site will go down.
Therefore, I was thinking of setting up "shell" sites with keyword domains for each one of my products and services. The "shell" sites would either sell my products directly or would have banner ads/reviews with links back to my big site.
I would repost some old, relevant blog posts from my big site to these "shell" sites and then do some backlinking by creating web 2.0 properties and doing social bookmaking to these web 2.0 sites.
Basically, my theory is: If G penalizes one of my "shell" sites, I only lose the income from that shell site. I can still maintain pre-backlinking product sales on my big site and the other products wouldn't be impacted. Obviously, it's a little more work, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
Has anyone tried a similar approach when they've had a fairly authoritative site already? Pros, cons, is there something I am missing?
Thanks in advance!
