After the Update - Questions About SEO, Niches and Keywords

It seems the times when we could do some quick keyword research, spend half a day putting a site together with an overseas VA's content, do some quick on-page SEO, get a few hundred backlinks easily with article directory software, and then seeing the site rank well and receive traffic.

Anyone could learn those simple skills and make some bucks online. Some of us made more than a few bucks with those basic methods.

How will your niche and keyword research change due to the latest Google updates? Are you going to focus much more on long term sites? Are quick and easy micro-niche Adsense sites a thing of the past? What is your opinion?

Micro sites still work great, I have loads of them still ranking. Its all about the links these days. Thats basically all thats changed. Write some decent content. Don't worry about fitting keywords in your article. If your keyword is dog training, just write about it naturally don't try to name the post "dog training" and have keyword density and blah blah blah. Maybe add some graphics and a quick video. All of that takes about an hour or two depending on your knowledge of the niche. Then build high quality links. Its the same game as its always been just focus on quality at every step of the process rather then quantity.
