How long for a link to help rankings?

How long do you think it takes before a link starts to pass some juice? I was thinking about this today and I think sometimes I give credit to the wrong link/strategy, it might take longer than I think it would.

It's going to vary, one thing that I focus on most is social bookmarks. Those links tend to affect my rankings in 2-3 days. They're really the fastest link juice I get. So anything else usually takes a little longer.

The links will get counted when the page gets reindexed by google!

It depends on where your link is placed, whether from high page rank sites or from quality sites like .edu sites. Since these high page rank sites will be cached by Google regularly. So when those sites gets crawled our link also will be crawled and indexed by Google. So naturally our site would be crawled.

The best way to judge it is with high PR links because you can really see the impact. Ive seen links get registered within 12 hours and sometimes take as much as 3-4 days. When you have tiered link campaigns or really massive linking campaigns it can take weeks for the full affect to unfold. But usually 1 link will be registered within a few days. And by registered I mean you will see the rankings benefits if any.

That depends on the moment that Google has indexed the page. From my experience it takes from 2 days up to 3 weeks.

But you can bring the crwler faster make an ping or submit the page to some huge social sites as : Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus...

once your link in the page get index and the link is dofollow , then it will start helping your site to get some weight in SEO.
