Hi guys, sorry if this topic was covered already. I used the search option, but din't get what I was looking for, so I decided to make a new thread.

Well...I'm creating authority sites with hundreds of articles each, and each site would be based on a particular niche.

I'm going to monetize the sites with adsense and I would like to know which theme would be ideal for my situation?

I want high CTR from the theme; also, the site should look professional (like an authority site)

Thanks for your help.

Is this a Wordpress platform or something else? For WP themes, I started a new site and wanted a good CTR them with a professional look also.

I ended up settling on the HeatMap theme for Wordpress

Yes, but I also heard that the CTR theme is only good for micro niche sites? I want to build an authority site...

This topic is pretty darn ridiculous.

    And I mean no flame.

    But try thinking like this:

How do I plan to structure my website?

How do I want it to look aesthetically?

How do I want to integrate social interaction?

How do I want to integrate advertising?

Get your vision for your wordpress site and then tinker with a free theme, child theme until you are satisfied.

Don't make compromise because you don't yet have the skills to make some thing look and work the way you want it to.

In my honest opinion. It is absolutely ludicrous if somebody wishes to build an "authority" website and isn't willing to do these things.

Then again. If you are just making an article barrel...use any old theme.

I see them go on flippa all the time. Good serps. Nonsensical content. Site looks like #$@$ = $10,000 USD.

        Hey,

It really doesn't matter what theme you use...I mean really.

But I've had good luck with clickbump themes in the past. Scott builds some nice adsense niched themes, has lots to choose from, and won't stear you wrong.

Just do a google search for Clickbump engine...

I see you have been asking on couple of threads.

Yes - if you have the money to spend over a premium wp theme like adsense pro ultimate, go for it. I personally use it that is why i am recommending it to you

Its pretty much straight forward, if you know how to use wordpress you can easily use the theme or in case you don't understand something, simply submit a ticket or ask around on forums

        Good luck!

Its actually hard to say how much money you'll going to make, since this depends on the type of niche you are in. If you have sites that are getting good traffic but not good amount of clicks, then you can use this theme to boost your CTR.

            Good luck!

For authority sites, I highly recommend the Catalyst Theme. It is almost like Thesis (which is used by many authority sites and by Matt Cutts of Google) but the Catalyst Theme doesn't need much coding. The CTR of your site will depend on the placement of your ads and your niche.

With an authority site, honestly the best thing is to go with something that YOU like; and provides an excellent user interface as well.

Micro Niche Site themes do not translate well in to authority site themes based on my experiences. Essentially, MNS themes are designed in a way to actually make the site appear tiny, so that users can feel compelled to click on ads/[insert monetization method] once they have gotten the info they needed from your site.

Authority sites, though technically 'bigger' sites in terms of pages/content, need to be able to do the opposite of MNS websites... they need to encourage people to come back. People need to love your site theme, its functionality, and the content it offers. Keep all these things in mind when looking for an authority theme.

Personally, I find that 'magazine' themes work well for an authority site. Bodybuilding.com (weight loss niche) and IGN.com (video gaming niche) are probably two of the biggest and highest quality authority sites to reverse engineer.

Don't pick a theme based on how well you think adsense will convert; pick a theme that will enhance your visitor experience. (THEN, later on you can do all the tweaking with ad-sense placement, rotation, publisher exclusion to optimize your CTR).

For my sites I use socrates it is a pay theme but it is very easy to use and pre set up for adsence. You can set up a site quickly that looks pretty good.

    Hope this helps

I like flex-squeeze. It is super customize-able and it doesn't look like some of those made-for-adsense themes.

The only downside is it's not free.

I personally don't think the terms "adsense theme" and "authority site" should go together. An authority site IMO should be an authority site first and foremost and monetized with adsense second. Also, any decent (non adsence) theme nowadays should have the capability to place ad units in all he optimum places while still not looking like a purpose built CTR theme so I don't get the point of using one, it just devalues the authority of the so called authority site for me...
