Hi,

I would like to know what changes you have done in terms of link building after Penguin update.

How do I have to use multiple anchor text, these texts are targeted keyword or it may be any main point of my website?

    HI Sam,

I think the main ones would be:

    - vary anchor text and aim for less than 50% of anchor text to be optimized
    - get as many high quality links as possible
    - get a good mix of no follow and do follow links
    - get a wide variety of links - don't just focus on the one type of link
    - avoid blog networks, linking schemes and anything that may look unnatural

    Cheers
    Suzanne

Could you explained what you mean by the anchor text being "optimized".

For example, if your targetted keyword is Black & Decker 9099KC 7.2-Volt Cordless Drill then would using the keyword Black & Decker Cordless Drill as the anchor text still be considered optimized?

      Cheers,

Optimized anchor links are those "money" anchor text links. The example you gave would still be an optimized anchor text links.

You need unoptimized anchor text links, these are things like "click here", "learn more", "visit site", and those type of links. The ones that people would naturally use when linking to your website.

Its all about focusing on better quality links these days. Ranking is very easy when you use quality link building. Spammy link building has been great for years but it is slowly coming to an end. Get high PR links through guest posting or a private network. Create quality web 2.0's that link to your website. Not Garbage web 2.0's. Created a PDF and upload it to a few PDF sites. Try sharing it around the web as much as possible. Create videos ect...

Submit only high quality articles to non spammy Article directories and don't automate the process, Google is clever enough to know the difference between automated and manual link building.

Try to get a piece of content on your site to go viral, be it an image, infographic, meme, demotivational poster, etc.. Optimize that page for your niche, keep the content relevant to your niche. Make the page just about the image not about selling. The point of this is to build links, not get traffic through the links. The traffic will come thru the other pages on the site due to your site's authority built through the 100% legit links that will come when your image goes viral

To get the initial seed of traffic to your viral image, you can share to facebook, twitter, stumbleupon etc. You can also buy retweets on fiverr or possibly buy some stumbles. This gets the initial views, and hopefluly it goes viral.

Once viral, real humans will share it or like it etc.. And those are all legit signals google is now taking very seriously as a vote for your site.

Additionally, guest blogging, legit directories, press releases are all still safe. And of course REAL blog comments that are hand typed by you, legit to the topic, and REAL forum participation with your links in your signature.
