I have a wordpress blog on health. Content is completely unique.
In settings, I have set the latest post will be displayed on home page. the problem is when I publish a article, the url is mysite dot com slash keyword. at the same time the article is displayed on home page and at that time the url is mysite dot com. So my article is displayed on two different URL's. and the prob is I am creating all the backlinks for mysite dot com slash keyword. but the home page is indexing very fast, and the home page is getting ranked for that keyword but on very low position. The other URL is getting indexed in 5-6 days. It is not getting ranked, despite the backlinks. I have a doubt that the google is treating it as duplicate content. Though in 2-3 days, some other post replace it from the home page.

What I should do? Shall I change my setting from recent posts to a static page for the home page. it will make my blog look static? What to do? What is best as per SEO? Any other suggestion is also welcomed, Thank you.

I would recommend to have just a snippet, not the full article appear on the home page with your setup.

Proper Link Strategy and On-Page SEO. These are the two factors on which your site can be ranked.

Snippet the article. Just show the first paragraph or whatever and a link saying more. That will also leave you with more space on your home page.

Either that or have the article on the home page only and then when it is archived/replaced transfer it to a new page.

Great post. I always learn from these interesting posts. For |OFFPage seo- i would avoid tools like amr, xrummer, etc because google is detecting these types of links now.
