How many bad links are too many for penguin ?

A lot of talk about penguin has focused on the value of backlinks. I was wondering how many bad links do you think it takes to trigger the penguin to take a dump on your site ?

That's depends upon many things:

domain age, trust, PR, ratio of low quality links to high quality, variation of link sources, purpose of site i.e. high abuse thin affiliate site or .org non-monetized site etc etc.

You're also going to need to look at your anchor text in the backlinks you've built and work out the percentage of the links that contain your keywords. If you are straying into the > 50% mark then it is worth thinking about bringing this percentage down.

Also, if your site was hit, take the time to look at other sites in your niche that didn't get hit and what sort of distribution they have of their keywords in anchor text.
