Here's what I don't understand...

I have a website: "MaxMuscleMethod.com" which--according to Google webmaster tools--averages position 1.7 for "Max Muscle Method"

When I go look for the website in my own searches, I can't find it, and neither can a series of online tools, or desktop programs.

I'm definitely getting traffic to my site, but from where?

My suspicion is that Google knows the 'web profile' of who owns the website, and doesn't necessarily show that website to that individual, in order to ferret out people who are excessively backlinking.

Has that been the experience around here?

Use pagewash.com to see your true ranking, and use Statcounter to see exactly where your traffic is coming from.

      Still doesn't show...

Statcounter is counting 100 fresh visits from google.

I'm flummoxed. I had browsershots go through my own YOURLS link shortener, and I can see my site ranked #1 on google. I have no idea where those searchers are coming from.

Heres what I do. Two methods:

    Manual Check:

Go to google and go to search preferences and turn off google instant. Then go to google type in your keyword and in the url bar at the end of the search add this in

    &pws=0

After you have done this hit enter and they will be the true results (I normally use ccleaner pro before doing this)

    Automatic method:

Go to Pagerank checker :Google SERPs checker: results many countries Google Pagerank SERPs index results web SEO tools

Type in your keyword and url for site you are searhcing for and the google you want

    Done!

You're at the top of page 1 in Bing, and the top of page 3 in Google (in the USA).

Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way...

Thank you for the confirmations on the non-us google rankings.

I had a second look through my webmaster tools account, and noticed something interesting.

My U.S. ranking has apparently been steadily decreasing (dance?). Uk, Australia, and other g-8 country rankings have increased significantly.

I'm very likely missing something here, but what?

I don't understand why the exact same site is ranked well in some countries than in others. Can anybody shed some light on this? The other websites that have outranked me on google-us should presumably outrank me on the international sites.

I'm in Canada; using google.com, you show up as #1 for that particular keyword.
