Maintaining Page rank

Hi Guys,
I've got a few domains on a private network and i'm wanting to maintain the pagerank on these domains. What is everyone's opinion on how to maintain it?
Is a tool like SENuke the most effective way?

    Well google is punishing private networks and services like Senuke don't work like they used to work on the past so you need to focus on more white hut seo methods, try guest posting and blog commenting on relevant sites and you will be ok on the long run...

    Blog commenting (not automated) and posts on high PR blogs (a lot more expensive than #1).

    If you've done your research right, PR shouldn't change much over time. Even without new backlinks. Get a few high quality links and you're good.

      That's not true, because you need links from high PR PAGES to maintain PR.

      So article marketing - your articles end up being PR n/a or 0.
      Web2.0's - you need to build links to them, otherwise they end up being PR n/a or 0.
      Same goes for pdf and video.

      So yeah... lots of bad advice on this forum.

    Yes. I agree with you. To maintain PR, control your home page.

    1. Remove unwanted backlinks from home page, and keep only important such as post / pages.

    2. Insert No-follow attribute for other Links. And keep a backlink to your home page from all internal page.

    3. Finally do some PR, do-follow blog comments.

    Your PR will not decrease at any updates.

    Page rank is very complex to understand, you can increase page rank by building links on high pr and relevant sites, you can increase page rank by getting natural traffic to your site as well.

    you DO NOT need backlinks from any other website, including high ranking ones, to accumulate or maintain PR ... THAT is bad advice in and of itself ... you simply need a great website that offers quality.

    if your site is where you want it in the search engine returns, focus your efforts on your websites on-page optimization. You'll find it's a much more rewarding investment.

      Absolutely awful advice coming from someone who claims to be an SEO.

      You do not even need a remotely good website to maintain PR. Content has NOTHING to do with PR. You NEED backlinks. Backlinks are what transfer PR between sites.

      You do understand that the poster was talking about PAGERANK and not SERP rankings, right?

      If you are maintaining a private network, you are going to occasionally lose backlinks on some of those sites. Losing a few backlinks here and there is completely normal. Websites and pages disappear from the internet all the time, or they might redesign some things and remove the link to you. You need to keep building high PR backlinks to the domains in order to maintain the PR. You might even see the PR jump up if you do enough of it.

      And as for SEnuke... no. SEnuke will not maintain your PR at all. It only builds PR 0 and PR n/a backlinks.

    Always avoid applications/softwares/scripts/plugins to build links. These links are worthless and put you in danger. Generate links manually to keep your PR up. Your PR may well be improved if you follow natural link building techniques.

    I heard there is no point of private networks as those are being penalized by Google. but I never experienced it. Anyhow, if you want to get high PR, you have to go for more theme links to your site.

    Yep, also use other mass backlink tools like scrapebox, sick, xrumer, etc.
    but you must combine it with high PR backlink, which is done manually...

    Link building is best solution for maintaining and increasing pagerank as per recent google search update. Create links by blog commenting (manually) on blogs that have higher pr than yours and also by getting backlinks from same.
