Server downtime affected ranking

My site was down for around 15 days and now up again with different theme and better content.
It used to rank in top 10 and had many backlinks.
Now it has been up for 4 days and getting 0 visits.
What should I do?

15 days is a long time. By all means, keep adding content. You may come back -- but you may be starting at zero again, so to speak. I've seen a site down for three days and it came back. But I had part of my site down for awhile (not realizing there was a coding error) and it never came back to where it was.

If you can help it don't let the site go down for such a long time again.

      What about micro niche sites?
Should I ping the site or start building links from zero?

Yes 15 is long time, as danny said start link building backlink and fresh content. Google crawler will detect your fresh content and active your site again.

I dont really like pinging backlinks either... I like them to be found slowly and steadily

Be patient and keep building, two weeks down is a blow but not the end. If the URL structure and the bulk of the content for the pages that were ranking remained in tact you should get your spots back if the down time was the only factor.
