Hi

Would this method work to rank a main site

Buy domain names that have real pr ,say pr1 minimum

Place unique articles on them written for the keyword you are looking to target, and place a anchor text on the site for your keyword to your money site.

Giving your main site a real pr link that has relevant content

Please give me your views

Just one other question when buy a pr domain would it be best if the domain name had the part of your keyword in it?

Thanks

I don't believe it matters if the site you are linking from is relevant. Just make sure that the content that you are linking from is. Even if it's not it will still help. However, depending on the competitiveness of the keyword you are trying to rank, one PR1 site isn't going to give you much ammunition.

      Thanks

So i would be looking for buying domain names that have a pr 3 (Minimum)

Add content to it, and then do some backlinking to the pr domain

      Is that the idea?

      Thanks

It'll help you a little. If the content you put in that PR3 site is good you'll get traffic. That'll help you but not too much. You have build links in different related sites then you can rank your site.

PR3 and upwards would be much better. So, you're basically trying to build your own high PR network? Look out for posts from dp40z and Mike Anthony

LOL that's going to get a little expensive, although some people do this - like BMR!!. I think it would be far better to buy a high PR aged domain and then start adding content to it like a normal website.

Then you wouldn't just get a small boost for one keyword, you could rank quite easily for hundreds of long tails. Mate BTH you are better investing your time into creating some decent content, Google are slapping spammers left, right and centre and they are still not finished yet, 2012 is the war on spam...

All the people claiming to be real seo's because they haven't been hit, their time will be coming to an end soon so if I was you I would walk the other way, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into with blog networks, won't want you to spend all that money on domains only to find they have de-indexed you..

Probably the only good advice you going to get around here..

Of course it is better when your keyword is in the domain name. You get 5*weight for your keyword if it is a part of the DN. Also the PR of the blog/website will NOT affect your ranking in Google

Not trying to steal the light here but i had a question regarding this comment. What about if your keyword phrase is "photos on canvas" and you have "canvas" in your Domain name. Does that count or do you need the whole phrase to count? Sorry i am SEO newbie. Thanks
