I need help to make proper SILO structure for ecommerce site

Hello,
I want to start building an ecommerce site and i want to implement some silo structure which i hope will help my product pages to gain better ranking. I will use wordpress as a platform and each brand will have a separate category.
One of the option for silo structure i am thinking of is to create a category for each brand, for example:
mydomain.com/category/nike
and all product pages in this category, which will contain different Nike products with descriptions, images and so one, will have a link to the category url.
The other option is to create some general post in the brand category, something like "Nike Shop" and the url will look like this:
mydomain.com/nike/nike-shop
and all the new posts in the Nike category will have link to this first post.
Which one of these two options is better to use? Or if there is some better way to make silo structure i will be very glad to hear it.
