Share PR To Other Pages?

Hey Warrior, It's always a great to come here at look at the many interesting Threads but I have a question or maybe a few.

I have a four month old website that is PR2 and I would like to share that PR2 juice with my other pages to get them rank a little better.

Questions:

Do I add a link to those page from the home by the website main keyword?
or
Just the key from the page I want to rank better?

Disclaimer:
I am not sure if that's possible or if it makes any sense.

Yes, you can add links from the Home page pointing at the pages you want to help.

Keep in mind it's not only about adding those new internal links, it's also about the existing links already on the Home page. You don't want a lot of unnecessary links on any authority pages.

The anchor-text doesn't nessacarly have to be the same on all the connected pages, example:
    • Anchor-text pointing at Home page = car
    • Anchor-text pointing at internal page (from Home page) = car parts

In the example above, both pages are related by the keyword car. You need at least one keyword in each page <title> to tie the pages together.

You could also use alternative words like car/automobile, that way it gives you some variation & will help you rank for both car parts & automobile parts a little easier.

Here is a little trick I use sometimes for finding synonyms for keywords. If you go to Google & search for define car, you'll get a short list of synonyms that you can use for keyword anchor-text (see screenshot below).

So for the keyword car, we could possibly use the following keywords as anchor-text pointing at the same page.
    • automobile
    • auto

If you click the More info links in the SERPs (screenshot below) you'll usually be able to find more keyword alternatives.

Thanks a ton bro, you made it somewhat simpler and clearer for me....

I guess it does make sense to try help other pages to rank just as well as the homepage....

Here is a nice page that goes over how to link for max PR. It's a good read.

TLDR: If you link every page on your site to every other page you'll get good PR all around.
