Will having a forum for a website be of any benifit to the site's seo?

I started a forum for my site a while ago, and it never really took off. I guess I could hire people to post / reply to it everyday for a couple months to kinda help it along?

I would guess the search engines would start pulling links from the forum

If your forum was integrated into your website and had plenty of members who where posting a lot, then the answer is yes. But trying to populate a forum is like pulling your own teeth. You can run a automated bot for a few weeks to do the posting for you, until the forum picks up. Ive seen threads get indexed within hours, that was last year before all the updates.

    Hi,

As far i know the leader on auto post is XRUMER you can get it here

You can also use this free auto poster if you are using Simple Forum as your forum engine, you can find the app here

Do not use xrumer, scrapbox or any others like that.
What forum do you have? We use phpBB and our bot uses RSS. We only use a bot to increase post count, the forum is in lock down and search bots cant crawl the site. We leave the bot to post on a daily basis for a few months, then open the site. Remember you might have a problem with duplicate content, so you will have to edit or spin the articles. This is our way and we don't advise other people do it.

    Example
    http://nevermindtheballcocks.com/
This is a plumbing forum for a customer that will open its doors in a few months.

Probably before you decide to do anything is work out if you have the need / want / desire to build the forum. if you do fine, but from what you posted you seem a little unsure ?

Anyway out of all options auto post would be up among the worst options, as most if not all are pure crap.

There was one magic auto bot that posted from yahoo answers a while back that was pure rubbish.

I built my own auto poster from yahoo answers with rss and it was just the same rubbish so i deleted it.

Taking or scraping feeds ? thats your call, it may be better to get some posters but there is a divided view on this so I will not judge the rights and wrongs but paidforumposting is one good site, you can get good posters on fiverr if your prepared to wade through the junk and there are other good companies out there that will do it for you.

But please make sure it's a path you want to travel or you may as well roll and smoke your own money.

    hello!

Obviously, having a forum for your site is really useful and helpful especially if there's something interesting to talk about at the forum related to your site of course. It has to have lots of members to make it of use. I hope that helped you in a way or so.

    Best of Luck!
