Meta keywords dont have any importance now. Even if you will not have meta keywords, it will not affect the website at all.

I have heard no more than two keywords should be targeted per page. But who really knows? Keywords in the title are much more important when it comes to being indexed by Google.

Meta Keywords tag are used to place your keywords that you think a surfer would search in Search engines. Repeating keywords unnecessarily would be considered spam and you may get permanently banned from SERP's.

Where in the world are you people living?

Meta keyword has nothing to do with a 67
character limit. Why are you people so clueless?

The title tag will show roughly 67 characters, but
      google indexes much, much more.

Since meta keywords is a non issue, google would
probably have no such comment to make on
any length. ANd if they did, the comment would
be about number of words, not length.

      67 characters?!?!?!?!

Some seo guru say it's still worth using.

It doesn't hurt to use it. No more than 7 words for the keywords - you want to avoid stuffing in unnecessary keywords though, if you only have one or two relevant keywords for that page, then only use those two keywords, don't add more in just because you have the space.

Meta keywords are not relevant to search engine spiders and thus they don't influence the indexing process . Yet, when it comes to SEO, nothing should be left outside, so you could use meta keywords to see how the words that you use there are relevant to your website's content. I think 5 is a pretty decent number.

Meta keywords are no more important and even I read in SEOMOZ somewhere that its recommended to not to have keyword meta tag as that show your competitors what keywords you are targeting your website for.

Search engines no more read META Keyword tag so far I have read on internet forums.

I still recommend using metakeyword, and although they do not help rankings it definitely doesn't hurt to have them in place. Include your primary and secondary keywords (3-6 per page is OK)

it should hold no more than 5 or so keywords, and the keyword selection should be different from page to page. It is also completely safe to not use this tag at all, as it does not help rankings.

Using your keywords in the "meta keywords" tag is not recommended. Why is that?
The meta keywords has absolutely no SEO value.
Your competitors could easily find out your most important keywords just by viewing your page source.

Just add wild stuff off the top of your head to your meta tags. Anything you can think of that would make someone laugh if they were to actually dig through your html. Internet memes from 5 years ago work great.

So we can forget about the keyword meta-tag?
    Only concentrate on keyword content?
