Competitive Keyword Analysis, how would YOU do it?

How would you do competitive keyword analysis for an E-commerce website? My E-commerce website has images all over the website. So the keyword density factor in the content section doesn't apply in my case at all. Could this be the factor for not achieving the rankings faster?

    If you're talking about analyze the competition of keywords there are different tools that will do that for you (ie the Keyword Inspector). But it sounds like you are talking about using keywords in content and looking at keyword density. Generally any page you want to rank well needs to have a minimum of 150-200 words to rank well in search engines. If you have too many pages without content you risk getting hit with a Panda penalty for having too much "thin content."
