Hi friends

I am designing my Word press site, and was wondering what the best SEO plugin is in your opinion ?
Right now,I am using Yoast for Wordpress SEO, which gives good result.
I just wanted to know if there is any better option what i don't know.

In my opinion wordpress SEO plugin by Yoast is the best one. You can also go for headspace2

      Hi
I was just about to open a new thread about this, but i can still its already here.
What about "all in one SEO pack"? 2 years ago, it was supposedly the best one, right? Is Yoast better now?
      Regards,
      Nicolas.

Sometimes it's better to know what NOT to do because you can learn more from it than knowing what TO do. As such, I've got a warning for you: do NOT use WordPress plugins that will automatically create internal links for you and here's why...

    - New pages create value
    - Getting links from other sites adds value
    - Internal links SPREAD value
    - The no-follow attribute lowers the value of a specific link or entire page (when speaking of meta robots tags)
    - The canonical attribute annihilates the value of an entire page

Summary: if you know how SEO value works, you know how SEO works. Distribution is key.

Now, if you have no freaking clue about how the SEO value of your site is distributed amongst your pages then you'll never know which pages are undervalued and which pages are overvalued, wouldn't you agree? Since you won't know, you'll have less to no control over the on-page optimization of all of your pages AND you will probably be trying to improve rankings/optimization of the wrong pages... making all of your SEO activities a total gamble based on guesswork, and guess what?

The pyramid of SEO priorities looks like this:

    1) Technical SEO (bot access, URL structure, etc.)
    2) Keyword research & targeting (= on-page optimization)
    3) Linkbuilding
    4) Social

In other words, if you screw up number 1 or number 2, you'll be cutting all the value you create with higher numbers (lower priority activities) in half if not more.

Conclusion #1: WordPress plugins that automatically make internal links suck. BIG TIME.

Conclusion #2: whenever you need to guess while doing SEO, you're not doing SEO the right way.

Hi Masterminding!! Very interesting answer... so based on this, which SEO plugin are you using? I understand that you must understan what is SEO about and control it, but some plugins might help you in that task, right? Which is the best?

All in one SEO. Simplifies all the basics and the automation it does you can control to a very large extent + it doesn't automate any kind of links, ever. Just the way I like it

I have to go with the majority of the previous posters and say stick with Yoast. I have used Platinum SEO as well as All in One SEO in the past...both good, but I just like the interface with Yoast. This is all of course very subjective as its like asking if you prefer to drive a Chevy or a Ford. Stick with what you like!

Here is a new SEO Plugin for WordPress. I like it because it even grabs Creative Commons Lisenced images for the keyphrase you want the article optimized for, pretty cool. It also does everything else you need to get your articles optimized. Easy to use, read more about it from What is the Best SEO Plugin for WordPress?

WordPress plugins will only help you to insert the meta description, title, meta keywords into each post easily, that's all the function of WordPress seo plugins.
There is no plugins who can do your work if you are in search engine optimization.
You can't make the process automatic. You have to do every singly things manually

I think you don't have much experience with SEO plugins from what you wrote above.
How about creating correctly prioritized page/post sitemaps?
      How about creating image sitemaps?
How about controlling which automatically generated pages by the WordPress engine to be indexed by search engines in order to avoid internal duplicate content issues?
How about easily inserting rel="author" and rel="publisher" meta tags?

And to answer the question: My vote goes to WordPress SEO by Yoast.

i like All in One SEO Pack, This is considered to be the simpler plugin overall while Yoast’s SEO plugin is more powerful than All In One, which makes it slightly more complex on the whole, but if you want to get the best results it can be worth a few minutes of time to get everything set up, this has attractive look and feel.
