Is Someone Using Underhand Tactics On Me?

Hi
I'd really appreciate some opinions please. My Salespage was hit big time by the latest Google Penguin but now I'm seeing websites doing well that have literally just taken my sales copy. Theses are affiliates sites by the look of things which is fine...as long as I'm not being penalized in some way, maybe for duplicate content.

They seem to have copied everything, including page title. Is there a name for this kind of practice?

To give you an example please Google 'easy beginners piano songs'.

You'll see that there are sites that effectively rip off my sales copy. There are others around too that do exactly the same but for different search terms?

Thanks in advance
Shayman

Sounds like they are either scraping your site or simply taking the copy and pasting it to their site. The using aggressive link building to rank ahead of you. Google is looking for the most relevant content for your keyword. If somebody steals your content and their site quickly becomes more authoritative, then you'll lose your rankings.

Thanks to all so far. This is what has worried me. It's a bit of a joke isn't it. My content, my product but someone with a website that has 100 plus pages can take my stuff and make me look like the bad guy. Jeeeeeeeeeeeez that sucks.

Message the owners of the sites and threaten legal action for copying your work. Usually that will convince them to get rid of the duplicate content.

Message Matt Cutts @ Twitter ands let him know your example. Won't make any difference beside exposing the hard truth: Google messed up big time.

Today noticed Portuguese Google displaying results for Venezuela and Uruguay...

If anyone calls this a good update he is either lying or stupid.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

What bigfoot said.. There are forms of a DCMA notice on this forum. Sorry that happened. It's frustrating.
