Will These Adsense Earning Ever Get Better?

I've got a site ranking #3 for a term which the Google Keyword Tool says Adwords advertisers can expect to pay about $3.50 p/click. The Contextual Targeting Tool (the one that tells how much you can expect to pay for an Adsense click) says that advertisers are being charged as much as $5.50 p/click.

I'm getting about $1.00 p/click. Pretty sad. About 18% split on my end if Google really is charging $5.50 p/click.

What's the likelihood that this will increase? I've probably only got about 1,000 impressions total on this Ad Unit.

Also, this Adsense account has another site which has a lot more traffic but is only paying about $0.60 p/click. Is it possible I'm getting paid less because my higher traffic site is somehow holding down the earnings for this separate campaign? Does that type of thing happen?

Yes from what I recall. This does happen. If Domain1 has 200,000 Impressions but very bad ClickthroughRate then your payout for Domain2 with 1000 Impressions with better CTR will drop. I haven't done adsense in awhile but back then it mattered it probably still does. Hard to prove but I did some testing back then.

In any case. Your earnings per click is higher than the average adsense starter you should be happy its not $0.06 per click!

    Goodluck!

1,000 impressions isn't too much, so it's very possible that you could start getting more per click. After all, Google only tells you what advertisers pay on average, so you might even get some clicks that are a lot higher!
