How to get the backlinks

Hi everyone! I have read alot of threads saying how to get backlinks but they all say provide quality content for people so they want to link back to it. That works with blogs or informational websites but don't see how i am going to convince people to link back to my site. I print customer photos on canvas so i was curious on ideas to get more backlinks. Sorry i am a newbie with SEO. Thanks

    According to me,you should start from the off page activities of SEO. The off page activities which are very useful for increasing the backlinks are as follows:Social bookmarking,directory submission,blog commenting and posting,article submission etc.

    Nothing try anything to build backlink for site, Only just right quality content for people not for search engine. And put your home page url in content. It's enough for backlink for site.

      You don't have to convince anyone to publish your link on their blog or website. You should write on the topics which people are eager to learn (staying within your niche). The only thing matters here is the quality and level of your content (in providing knowledge to your audience).

      Now that Penguin update is here, Google seriously wants webmasters to stay limited when it comes to link building....Yes, I mean, no spam links, no bulk links, no low quality links and absolutely no blog network links...

      Thanks everyone! So basically directory submissions, social bookmarking, commenting on other blogs that have to do with photography, fine art, ect , press release, article submission, and forum posting.

      I do have a question about social bookmarking. I do have a facebook account that i have about 200 fans and when i go to my webmaster tools it is showing about 20 links from facebook. How did i get so many links from them? If people start sharing my facebook page does that create a link? Are those the kind of links that I want? I know these are extremely basic questions. I just like to understand every part of what i need to do. Thanks for all your help!!! I really do appreciate it!

      Has anyone else use this program? I just wasn't sure if it is safe post peguin? How does this software work? Does it just post a link to my website on tons of social bookmarking sites or does it actually create accounts for all of them? Thanks ahead of time!!!!
