started a website for my business dont know how to get it ranked, any suggestions?

hi just started made a website and i have been told its not ranking at all. i dont know if i have done something wrong on it because i am new to this, can anyone help me please?

    If your website is new, it could take up to 1 month to get indexed by Google. How long has it been?

    If you used black hat techniques it will still rank for a few days, because the de-indexing bot is slower than the indexing bot. However, when the de-indexing bot hits you're gone.


    Some suggestions:
    Have you submitted your sitemap to Google Web Master Tools?
    Have you created a Facebook and Twitter account? (point links at your website from these)
    Use Woorank to increase crawl rate also: woorank.com
    Be patient, websites seem to take forever to index. It's part of the web masters life.

      BS. You can have your site indexed in as little as a few hours.

      I dont mean to come across rude Nathan, but the advice you've given in this thread is horrible.

      I would suggest both of you READ THIS.

      By the way, getting indexed really is, nothing more than wank factor. You should be focusing on much more important things.

      Just keeping building backlinks using anchor text. What keywords are you targeting aka what is your business about? Have you tried adding your business to Angie's List? Yellow pages? Keep adding content and building backlinks. There are plenty of business directories like 'Manta' that you could submit your website to.

    Well, you just plainly mentioned that you started a website and no mention what niche? and on which keyword it's based. To rank the website you need to target a keyword and work accordingly. The first basic step would be to get your site indexed.

      Submit your site to niche directories and business directories. Create a sitemap. Focus on internal linking. Comment on popular blogs and include a link in your signature. Write several pages of content and share your posts on social networking sites.
