Is it Possible to Outrank Companies + Price Comparison Sites?

I've found some quality keywords in the insurance niche ( I won't give any specifics for obvious reasons), but I am unsure if I can rank for them. Therefore, in your experience, have you found it possible to outrank companies and price comparison websites? It seems possible as their page rank and number of backlinks do not seem too high, but I would like a second opinion? Do the same rules not apply for websites like these?

    Yes it's very possible to outrank big companies and price comparison sites. There's no guarantee though on how easy it will be. You'll just have to test the waters in every niche you find. I can say from experience though that If there are missing components in the competition of the first page, then you'll always have a chance. For example: If a company site has high PR but does not target the exact match keyword...then you can beat them if your SEO is decent.
