Social media is the way to go, plus there are plenty of infographics sites that would post your infographic, just contact them and say - "check out my cool infographic, it would of interest to your visitors to have my infographic on your site" and give the embed code.

Well, the best way to promote your infographics is using social media platforms. These platforms are flooded with audience and it's easy to promote yourself where you can actually interact with your target audience...
So, go on all the major social media platforms like facebook, pinterest, mashable, squidoo etc and share your infographics. But keep one thing in mind, aggressive promotion may get considered as over optimization.

    • Write a blog post about the infographic and share it on social media sites. Put a press release out on it. Submit your infographic to directories and aggregators. Add social sharing buttons on the page where your infographic is located.

Social Media is the way to go.

    Also:
    - Try contacting people directly - bloggers, reporters, etc. (A good tactic is to ask them for input during the design stage of the infographic.)
    - Submit to the infographic directories, including visual.ly
    - Submit to stumbleupon and buy a few paid views to get it going
    - Try a prweb press release to promote it
    - Ensure you have a Pinterest Pin Button. (I see so many people launching infographics and forgetting that)

Before you publish your infographic, ensure you have at least 3-5 other good sites have agreed to publish it too.

    Another option:
    1. Share your infographic on Reddit
    2. Post your infographic on forums that have your target audience
    3. Contact bloggers and ask them if they want to post the infographics at their blogs. If your infographic is beautiful enough, they will be more than willing to post the infographic.

I second the use of Pinterest as a primary way to market your infographic and your designs. Pinners just love these because if they're visually appealing and of sufficient size, they really catch the eye in amongst other smaller photos in your Pinterest stream as they're generally 4000-5000 pixels tall so they really stand out.

I have a whole board of them in my account and I'm always looking for new ones to go in there, the funnier the better!

Collectors, guys like him above ^^^, you make a nice long list of them and reach out to them everytime you launch a graphic. Even better if they are in your industry.
