Difference in search volume between Google Insights and Adwords Keyword Tool

I've found that there's difference in search volumes between GAKT's search volume and that of Google Insights for search. Does anyone know the reason why? Thanks.

    if you are seeing that the adwords tool is higher, it's because it includes all search partners when showing counts.

    So you're saying that the adwords tool is more accurate?

    Interestingly, I think I saw one situation when the Insights tool was higher.

    OK, I found my answer. Insights show the percentage with 100 being the highest. These don't represent absolute numbers....duh

      Yeah insights is good for looking at keyword trends especially keywords relating to products and seasonal product trends.

    You might also want to try out other alternatives to the typical Google Adword tool. I have been using stuff like the SERPAnalytics and am pretty happy with the results. Many of these 3rd party tools many more advantages over the google keyword tool. For starters won't you like a free spy tool?
