review of backlink profile

I did not see any particular backlinks on a site that should have them in spyglass

Youtube from description field, Ezinearticles, and some other authority sites.

I see all other sites including backlinks that are no-follow, articleclick, goarticles but not ezinearticles, yahoo answers, or youtube. I know there are many there.

Why is that?

      I stopped building links 45 days ago, Google is still picking them up and they are PR3/4

    These are old backlinks from 3+ years ago.
    doing a site search in G, there are 45 articles and 5 videos. I guess spyglass is not such a good spy.

    No backlink checker is going to show all of a site's backlinks.

    does anyone else use spyglass and it shows their ezinearticles and youtubelinks?
    I can understand the edus as maybe those are buried a few directories within.

    If you want a decent tool for checking, I find SeoMoz with Open Site Explorer to be much more accurate when analyzing my competition's back links.

    Checking your back links is one of the lowest ROI actions you can take though. The most important factors to pay attention to are referring domains and anchor text percentages. Once you have a sample of those figures, then there's no need to see the rest of your back links in any tool.

      That's why I was using it for anchor text %. I haven't done this for a couple years on a few sites.

      Well, you'll want to know who might be scraping your content. I have found sites throughout the years doing this to me and that can lower your ranking and if your site is found on adult type sites.

      I looked into SEOmoz it shows less but it does show the edus but NOT ezine or youtube (even as nofollow). Very strange. However, most of the anchor text is the domain name from a long time ago. I'll leave the site alone since I see no reason why Penguin hit this site that I haven't done any real BLs for about 1 1/2years. I appreciate the suggestion though.
