If you survived penguin then you are safe for at least two years!

Yes, What you read in title is true! I am saying this because of many terms. Let me come to the point:

# Does stock market crash every year?
# Does global economy sink every year?
# Does earthquake hit a country every year?
# Does Sunami hit every year?
# Does American soldier go to war every year?

If above things are not going to happen every year then you can be sure that you just can't see any massive Google update like penguin in these two years. So if your website is well ranked after penguin then you are going to be on the top position in Google till 2014,

After penguin update Google is solving bug issues as many respected sites are hit by this update. Fixing update is penguin 1.1, Also I have heard that they are fighting a case which was filled because of this update. They have huge number of shares in stock market. They will not do anything silly to lower their share price rate.

So congratulation to those webmasters whose websites are survived after this penguin update.

Thanks and hope you will agree with my points.

The way Google updates their algorithm has no correlation with the stock market or really anything you are talking about.

    Google is impossible to predict.

I would not be too surprised if they released another black and white furry animal update tomorrow.

I disagree. Google will pursue every avenue to clean up spam from the Internet and improve their organic listings for the end users - while capturing more income from Adwords.

How they do it is the mystery. All you have to do is create good content both on and off your page and you should be fine. If not, then find out why and fix it!

Tell that to some of my clients who survived the 24th April Penguin update and got hit hard by the 25th/26th May Penguin 1.1 update :S

Luckily for me this are clients that joined after the 24th and since then I mix up the anchor txt widely and removed any type of dubious links so can't blame myself on that cause if so then anyone can better quit seo.

OP has somewhat of a point though (not 2 yrs ofcourse), the most heavy updates have come by now so it seems there is a big chance you are doing something okay. Obvious this does not count for brand new sites as they most probably still need to be evaluated before you can say anything wise about it.

You can think this is the second phase. Like when japan was hit by 7.0 earthquake they expected a smaller earthquake would be occured real soon which actually hit after the big one. So, penguin 1.1 is just the small one.

Absolutely do not agree with what you say.

It is ridiculous to suggest that just because other things experience a cyclical rotation that ones rankings are now safe......in fact I'd bet money on it that they are not......

Personally I don't think that will work very well, it seems this was not a one time thing but definetly an alghorytm change, so the real questionable practises like direct spamming, will be caught on too soon, before you are even able to sell.

You shouldn't ignore the ethical aspect either imo. I wouldn't feel good by selling such site. You can call me a pussy but spamming the net, all fine with me, but spamming / ranking and then selling, nah, you should gain your advantage yourself while it lasts.

That's why I can't imagine buying sites.. I don't think anyone would sell a site unless they suspected that it wasn't going to keep it's position. If they have no faith in the site, why should you have any? If the old owner of the site wants to bail on it that's an automatic red flag in my book.

Absolutely, I would never ever buy a site myself either, I already heavily regret it I didn't sell my site that made $250/month back then, now it's gone, could have brought in $3k lol. And back then I never realized I could lose it so easy, despite warnings from certain people. You got to love naieve people

Besides that, I knew people who "were" pretty succesfull in buying under-performing sites and flipping them again with huge profits, I guess these very same people are definetly scratching behind their ears right now.

**** sites + spam links are working really good right now. A friend of mine did a test with 10 fresh domains and 9 are currently top 3 (50 to 600 daily uniques each), with one site pulling in over $50/day over the last week. All of these are 3-4 weeks old and all got hit with massive link spam (incredible variety and anchor profiles though). Total cost for all 10 sites was maybe $1000, so he already made his money back.

It's all short term monies of course, but beware of new sites popping up on flippa.

I'm not saying that you should go back to MFA and link spam or whatever - those aren't long term business models. But that's just how things are right now.

I would say that this is a dumb thread, but that would be an insult to dumb people.

A top ranking now does not mean you will maintain it until 2014. That is complete garbage. Your competitors can overtake you at any time. If you have been doing crappy SEO, Google may not have caught up with you yet, but they may have some new update in the coming months that will hammer your site.

Your image proves nothing. I have no idea what you are getting at.

As far as major updates by Google, Panda was in 2011 and far more "devastating" than Penguin, so no, the last big update was not before 2010.

Your original post makes absolutely no sense.

Mike Anthony, I searched with "Brac Bank Limited" and you can see it's showing "dutch Bangla Bank" Limited in top 10 result. Remember I was searching it in google.com not in Google.com.bd

So, my point is after penguin 1.1 released why we are watching this kind of SERP? Some big website owners filled against this Penguin update. Because their money making respected websites suddenly disappears from SERP, I have read it in a seo blog.

Google will update it's algo time to time but what I am trying to say is We will not see penguin type update real soon.

I'd have to agree with Mike above and also with the fact that Google is simply unpredictable. You can never tell when they're going to update their algos unless you got someone inside their office. So, we should always be prepared for the worst and that's why you cannot take the foot off of SEO for even 1 second.

There is no guaranteed amount of time you'll be safe for. As long as you rely on one source of traffic for income, you're putting your business at risk. As much as I love the traffic Google can send, you can't rely on them alone. It takes months to get any real traffic from them, but it can disappear overnight. Not ideal if you ask me...

    This thread made my day.

Does the Queen eat a swan for breakfast every day ?
Do chipmunks light crack pipes with flame throwers ?
Does Obama wear Romney's used underpants ?
Do Olympic relay teams practice with dildos ?

If you answered yes to any of the above, please take immediate action to fortify yourself
against Pandaguin, this month's mother of all Google updates that will not only demote your site for using more than three exclaimation points per page but will also email your friends and tell them all your dirty little secrets. WSO pending.

This could very well be the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my entire life.

Funny that this old thread gets bumped 2 years safe, but then there was Panda 2.0 and this EMD misery.

Google will keep bringing new updates until we all become Google's customers. It is a for profit company and it makes nothing when customers get relevant results from organic searches.

I love these 2. At least the other 3 can be manipulated by humans, so there is at least one connection between those and Google updates, but these 2?...

Now I know all those people who have been saying Google is taking over the world have been right all along. Google really is THE GOD!

I am not satisfied at all with what you have said. There is no co-relation between all these facts and updates from Google and Panda can be there any
    time.

The OP was wrong but that can happen to any psychic.

Now, the good news is that you don't need 2 years!

The Mayans predicted the end of SEO: Google will deindex all affiliate/adsense/e-commerce sites by December 2012.

So, create crappy sites with a shitload of links today and earn while the Internet is here. There is not much time.
