I am doing SEO for a new client and the keyword he is after is a sub domain page that was listed as 188th position. His site is a Wordpress which I'm familiar with. I went in and fixed title tags, meta, alt, etc.. Added unique content geared towards his industry and keyword, wrote blogs, articles, twitter post, Facebook, back linked, bookmarks, posted some classified ads as it is in the service industry, etc..

I basically did everything I could just to see where it jumps when google scrolls it and moves it. The page is indexed BTW. I have always had things like this just rocket after a few days, maybe a week, but nothing in 2 weeks so far? Has me puzzled really. I have heard it can take even a month? But I have never seen it. Is there anything else I can do to make google check it out? I know his page will jump when google does!

Thanks guys/ girls and sorry for the long post but I had to explain it.

Google's bot has been doing some strange things lately, some times i have noticed them crawling the web a lot slower and doing alot more deep crawling. They are also working out alot of things atm so you never know what's going on at their end.

With everything that's been going on lately I would say it's a bad idea to try and force Google to index your content and links, i guess patience is the key and continual development. Try submitting some content to some sites with higher pagerank and you might get faster results.

From what you stated, your offpage seo is weak. No wonder your client's site isn't moving up.

and are the links you building getting crawled by Google?

Apparently not at this point or it would have moved. I just work slowly at submitting different things and try to do it all gradual and in the past it has worked perfectly and kept extremely competitive keywords on the 1st page. What else would you suggest?
