What you said seems to be like a Link Pyramid scheme I will also wait for other forum members that what they do say about Link Pyramid still works or not post penguin.

I'm going to throw my vote in the 'kinda-still works' column... But take that with a grain of salt. If you go out and create 100+ web 2.0 properties with duplicate content, in the next month or two, you will probably get GoogleSlapped...

With that being said, I'm still using this method (with due caution) and be sure to go easy on the # of social bookmarks you point at each web2.0 property and mind the quality of your social accounts!

Squidoo has become more challenging to 'dominate' in the last 6-8-12 months. Panda removed Squidoo from the 1st page short-cut method and in response, Squidoo started banning lenses that had crappy backlinks pointing to it. Squidoo is not a method I'm currently using, although there is still value there for internet marketers.... Just not backlink mojo, IMO.

You are definitely in the grey area of the grey hat crowd, here. Article sites have been getting a bad wrap for over a year, now... The Panda Update was fairly abrupt and many article sites saw a significant decrease in their SERPS. Many internet marketers felt a shock-wave effect in their eZineartilces or GoArticles articles getting de-indexed or removed from the 1st page to get replaced on the 4th page.

Then, April 24th 2012 (Penguin update) happened and another shockwave has rocked the article marketing world... I've applied the brakes on my article marketing campaigns at the moment, but think that I simply need to target more niche-specific article directories vs. the old days of splammering articles out to every directory available.

So, what do you do, then???? Well, you can start with publishing 1 new valuable post for your blog per day. In one year, when your site has 300+ more posts than any of your competitors, who do you think Google will display as the 'Expert' in your niche???

I'm still a big fan of web 2.0 pyramids combined with some manual high pr blog commenting. Example of a decent web 2.0 structure: money site <= web 2.0 <= article submission <= blog comments and forum profiles, and then social bookmark the whole thing (except for the blog comments and profiles). Works like a charm!

Still I am using the high page rank Edu and Gov profile back links. The higher the page rank the better the ranking. I use manual method in building links to look natural in Google's eye.

You can try combination of link wheel and link pyramid to point backlinks to your main money websites and don’t forget to try guest blogging.

Google Webmaster Guidelines is still always a good way to start to deal with this penguin update. Since then, Google wants us to provide pages for real people and not for search engines. They have clearly stated that in their guidelines.

Now, have you noticed guys that those who have been hit by this update are those who claim themselves as "link building" gurus? (not all, but mostly based on my observation) Making a search engine websites with more natural link profile has always been their goal (it's not really bad though).

The bad side is this, they forgot to make pages for real users. Amazing contents are those ones that catch users attention and make them share it. Doing other backlinking strategies are good, but let's not forget the users of search engines.

It's not really a bad idea of going back to the basics. In fact, it's a good way to make things up. For backlinking strategy to deal with penguin, David Mcbee mentioned few important things to build links for the penguin update.

Read and observe carefully. All those methods are for baiting users. not search engines.

Google Penguin doesn't only counts your backlinks but also your website's content.. If you have spun or copied content in your website, you will be banned by Google for an instance.. Just like my clients website, I thought his content are all unique or original but when I checked to copyscape dot com, it's copied to other related sites. So beware with the quality of your content. Also, the anchor text should be natural, like using the brand name of your website and a mix of different keywords..

I prefer web 2.0. But I advise you not to add links at the beginning. Try best to make more people share your articles. The more the better. Besides, social networks is also a good method.

Post Squidoo bombing I have found writing wikihow articles to be very effective in getting referrals. Don't know much about getting high on google after penguin, I am still another sheep just following the herd on these forums.

Any WHITEHAT strategy works after Penguin. Spun content should be used in a low key, Build a wall around your money site. If you are into automated tools, as much as possible stop using it or use it very rarely. Social Media is a good arena in getting traffic as well as backlinks. I cannot disclose close all of my strategies but he main point of all this Panda and Penguin issue is RELEVANCY. Relevant content = win, relevant backlinks (high quality or medium quality) = win.

i'm back to the old way of backlinking and doing it manually because some of my sites were affected by the panda and penguin. need to play it safe for now

Google hates keyword stuffing. So refrain from that. Try to incorporate keywords in such a way that they look like a logical part of the content. They shouldn't look like they have been put there merely to fool Google.

All strategies, like Directory submission, Press release and social bookmarking helped me to retain my original position.

Article sites, Squidoo are not to be seen on the Google pages at all, let all on the 1st page for most of keywords. Web2.0 still works. However I have noticed few other kind of sites that Google have fallen in love with -
1. Yahoo answers
2. Slideshare.net
3. Youtube videos
4. Press Releases

Being natural is the best strategy after penguin. Get only natural backlinks.

Well, almost all the methods of link building work now the thing is you have to do it naturally and you have to create fresh content on your site regularly.

Getting links from sites in your niche is still working. Doing hard work pays off, while quick link schemes don't. What's the value of having some spun (or even "unique") content on a Web 2.0 and blasting it with social bookmarks? No one cares about your links.. they don't result in any traffic and the only purpose is to "trick" Google, which is pretty great at unmasking "tricks".
