Dominating Every Search Engine But Google

What does it tell me that I am dominating every search engine except Google? Is this indicative of a penalty? I used to rank well on Google but after bmrgate, I lost my ranking. I initially re-gained it by adding other types of backlinks but I my serps have plumetted on Google since. Google's algorithm can't be that much different than the others, so does this mean I have been penalised? I have removed all BMR links since March.

Cheers in advance.

In my experience, the other search engines are not as sensitive to the spammy backlinking methods that Google has been on the rampage against.

I'm trying to help a couple of people now that got trashed by Penguin, and for the most part they are still holding fantastic rankings in Bing even though they are out of the top 200 in Google for most of their keywords.

Penguin is what destroyed me. Anchor text was my undoing. Going to use keyword anchors for less than 20% in future. No spammy links and all BMR links have been removed.

When you said "every search engine but Google" I hope you don't mean just Yahoo, Bing, AOL.

& BMR destroyed you not Penguin.

I believe Google has got a best algorithm that removes spam results from the search. I dont think other search engines are as advanced as Google, as I believe most of the other search engines are following Google. But I would say, targeting other search engines too is a good idea as it can get you some number of visitors too.

Google hates them since Penguin update. They're deemed unnatural and as an attempt to game Google.

Yeah, Google is getting pretty good at penalizing sites for nearly any significant anchor text manipulation. It isn't just about % thresholds anymore, you have to look at the simple volume as well. Best bet is to build links naturally and rely on authority as much as possible, not specific keyword anchors.

Same thing mate and i`d guess it was penguin, after BMR got its doors shut my sites dropped i managed to scrap a few pages back up the SERPs then Penguin hit at first it didn`t seem to affect me then about a week later bang gone.

If your sites had BMR pointing to them even if you`ve removed them and had problems with other spammy links along with high anchor text of your target just move on mate unless that site is some million dollar baby its dead

Forget it move on wiser and faster and as for the other seach engines all of them combined are worthless my sites are still ranking in the top 2 spots in yahoo and bing but it means NOTHING

I agree 100%. I rank great on yahoo and bing for my big and small keywords. In some instances I even have double and triple listings in bing and Yahoo, but non of them are worth a dime as they bring only a handful of visitors a day. If you want se traffic, you have to rank on Google.

It has a lot to do with the Penguin updates. I've noticed that a few of my sites that do well on Yahoo and Bing don't do well on Google. Vice versa applies as well.
