What can be advertised with Google Adwords?

Hey all,

I know you can't directly promote affiliate or CPA products, but I recently got in trouble for promoting my offline local business via Adwords. It seems the only thing you can't send people to is the something that will directly make you some money. Even if the searcher is looking for "buy a car now with cash" you can't send them direct to your car sales page lol.

I know I'm ranting a bit, but seriously.. how can my local business (window cleaning) benefit from Adwords?

I think first is to look at your site, most bricks n mortar is fine to promote, so as base one lets look at that site and see what the main problems if any are there. also if you have a reason why they did not like the site that could help.

You can advertise pretty much anything with Google adwords as long as it is not illegal. What do you mean you got in trouble for promoting your offline business with Adwords? What Happened?

Review your landing page, don't make it look "overly affiliate centric"

And apart from CPA, affiliate and direct sales or signup pages :rolleyes:

My site was a four page contact, gallery, services page etc. Exactly what the searching customer is looking for. Google wanted unique content and 600-word articles with absolutely no advertising before they'd approve the site.

You can be targeted If your site has flash banner ads or multiple ads with other dynamics and redirects as well.

Maybe you should try giving them those things. Then you should be able to send customers to your sales page. I ahve no problem doing this.

  Nobody said you had to turn it into a blog. It only needs to have those things to satisfy google initially. Nobody said you can't make the links to those things hard to find after you get approved.
