Are Hubpages worth it -

I'm just checking on the consensus regarding Hubpages. Is my imagination or are Hubpages best used as "valuable" content with links to money sites?

Just seems like they're picky about content that is even remotely driven by marketing

Hubpages use to be really worth it, but yes they have gotten very very picky. Links from there certainly are still valuable, but the issue I have is that it has been too frustrating for me to work with them, especially when there are so many other great places where you can get strong backlinks.

1 link only, and I don't really like that.!

They have lower ranking than squidoo, and I think other web 2.0 sites with higher PR worth the time.

I agree with what Matt and Foxpro said. They have become extremely picky and if they think there is even a hint of self promotion than they will pull the Hub. It is EXTREMELY aggravating when you put a bunch of time into a hub and then they yank it. Plus only having one link in your hub is almost not worth the time it takes to make it up to their standards.

On top of that if you are new to Hubpages you have to publish several very high quality hubs and take a large part int he community to get your score up for them to release the nofollow from the links. I believe you have to have a score of 75(may not be exact) in order to get dofollow links.

Squidoo has also gotten much better rankings from my experience.

My opinion, don't bother with Hubpages there are better uses of your time and content. But again that's just my opinion.

I use hubpages too. No harm on building back link to your own website/blog. it is always a good to drive traffic. No matter dofollow or nofollow, it still benefit you.

I spent quite a bit of time writing articles on Hub pages, then all of a sudden they got super finicky. It kind of made me mad, but I started concentrating more on Ezine Articles and got some sales from clickbank. The only thing with Ezines is they don't allow "affiliate" links, they want an actual web page that you own.

I love hubpages and they send me good traffic. Ezine is better though.

      Hello Everyone
Now a days I have heard people mention HubPages fairly frequently and thought it was about time I acquainted myself with them. My understanding is that these pages could be used as another means of obtaining coveted backlinks and better yet even for free.

hubpages can be used as just a source of backlinks to your money site, but be really careful how you write your articles because like they said that site is so damn picky.

I still use hubpages but it is definitely no longer as good as it used to be and there are often better similar sites at your disposal.
