Surprising Sources of Traffic?

So a lot of us are just chugging away every day building backlinks in every way we can to get traffic.

Did you ever try some strategy and were surprised to see it brought way more traffic than you expected?

I find it's kind of unpredictable. Sometimes you spend weeks doing all sorts of things and nothing really brings much traffic. Other times you do one thing and it suddenly becomes your top source of traffic.

    You need to be building traffic from a variety of different sources, and not just depending on one traffic source - especially if that one source is Google.

    Blog commenting, forum posting, article marketing, video marketing, and Yahoo Answers can all provide steady traffic, and they all have a cumulative effect. Keep using these methods, and your traffic will just keep increasing.

    Traffic is being build.
    If there was a single source, we all will have been there.
    A lot of people depend on google, which of course is the major source, but there are a lot of cummulative sources, especially from back links.

    yeah i totally remember the time. it was in 2009. Some of my friends told me that i should start Face book or other Social media sites. I just posted my sites link to some of the related pages and also some profiles.
    Next day i got a huge number of unique visitors form face book.
    But its a normal thing now
