hey members how are you all? My site has no PR yet, I am building backlink for my site by social bookmarking only. But I am getting tired day bay day. My site can't gain any PR yet. Normally, I make 30~40 social bookmarking for my site daily. I wanna know how many backlinks I have to biuld up for acquiring PR 2 or 4? How long time Google will take for indexing my backlink? Thank You.

You should worry about actual ranking in the SERPS rather than page rank. The toolbar page rank only gets updated every few months so is always out of date anyway. It is not just about the number of links either, it is about the quality of these links.

I don't advise using just one method to build backlinks - this is just going to look unnatural to the search engines and you will probably not get ranked very well as a result.

Try to mix things up a bit and get lots of high quality links with varied anchor text. Try things such as press releases, guest blog posts, web 2.0 mini sites, blog commenting on good blogs, article syndication. Also remember to vary your anchor text.

    Cheers,
    Suzanne

Suzanne is correct. Google may only make PR changes public once or twice a year. When, in reality, it's changing a LOT more.

Fortunately PR is not the be-all-end-all. A site with quality (and optimized) content but low PR can outrank a site with low quality content but a higher PR.

Now, if you can get a decent PR + pair it with quality content you'll be set.

      SERP > PR

and Google only announce the PR change twice or thrice per year.

Pay attention to SERP yes. If you want to increase your PR, you can use article and directory marketing. For example when you write an article, firstly ping it and then try to build some backlinks to it. When it get indexed, you can increase its PR to 1 or 2 and this will help your site's PR too. Other thing you can try is to find dofollow directories and post your website there and wait for the next PR update... But once again... Don't pay so much attention to PR, try to rank higher on google search engine
