I have about 45 small mfa sites that lost all their rankings after penguin. They have no traffic and no PR. What can I do with them ?

Either take the trouble to rewrite the content so that it's unique, or sell them off as PLR.

You can sell some of the sites for good prices in the flippa site.

And you can keep some of of them to utilize and earn some good income.

You can keep the sites with interested topic to you.

You can try with some backlink services and use different anchor texts to point, and make sure your on page setup is as per Google guidelines. If so, there are high possibilities to get your ranks back

I would suggest you what powerofschool wrote too. The best solution is selling all those domain names on Flippa, without PR their price will not be high, but at least you can earn a few bucks.
I wouldn't mess up trying build those sites again, there are too many that it will be too difficult. You can keep some which you think you can monetize well according to their domain name - niche.

You might be able to make a nice amount on Flippa by selling these site. 45sites is a good amount to sell for about $100 each.

$100 a site for websites all slapped by penguin, meaning they will all need work doing to fix the unbalance of keywords before even starting to create content, optimize, promote.

Would you PERSONALLY pay $100 each? I know i would only pay for the domain if it had a LOT of links, high PR, a good niche

You'll be lucky to get enough money to recover the $10 domain.
    • No traffic
    • No income
    • No content
    • No SERP rank

There's nothing left to sell, besides the domain name.

  • Start adding 100% quality/unique content and build high pr links. You should start seeing your rankings return after awhile

      I agree with this.

Your options are to add content and build backlinks to regain some rankings or to just scrap those sites and start over. I would choose the first option.

I would say it depends on how much the sites were making and what the investment would be to recreate them. If any of them were really huge earners, then yes, trying to salvage them with new, unique, and quality content and good high PR links with diverse anchor text is probably worth a try. However, if it was really Penguin and not Panda or some other filter, then links are probably the main culprit and depending on how bad your over optimization is, it may be very difficult to reduce the Penguin penalty. Writing up new content and building link diversity for 45 domains is a lot of work.

On a few sites where I had to make the choice, I have started over with new domains and taken some micro sites in similar niches to create a new larger site. The jury is still out on how well that will work however.

Good luck to you either way!
