Youtube and Adsense -- how does it earn more?

Okay this is stupid to ask, I know -- more views = more cash, right? But then I have a problem here. I do have a lot of videos up but then I have no idea how to get my videos to a higher view ratio.. things I do are not common subjects like gaming.. or fashion, stuff like that. I upload video of kung fu most of the time and they are not getting much views. I saw some other guys can get a lot of views with a short time even their video sucks, what is the theory there to get more views?
