Google country specific search problem

A few days ago, I am certain that I can easily change from my country specific g.oogle search (which is the default upon loading) to g.oogle.com by just typing g.oogle.com to my browser's address bar. Now no matter what I do, even if I typed g.oogle.com in the address bar I am always taken to my country specific g.oogle search. Is there anyway to change or set g.oogle.com as default search engine instead of your country specific search?

Thank you very much

download google chrome https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/ you will be given the option to set google.com as your default browser.

Thanks.. I have chrome before but de-installed it since I like firefox more. But will try chrome again....I also read somewhere to type google.com/ncr to use no country redirect..

      thanks again.
