do I need hosting?

right now i'm using masking with fowarding with my godaddy domain to my blog domain so the posts show up in the blog.

are there any cons to this and is this okay?

    I would say the cons to this are obviously that you don't have total control over your website. I'd reccomend getting your own hosting if you take internet marketing the least bit seriously.

      I do own my own domain but not hosting as of now. I'm using blogger for my posts as opposed to wordpress (that costs a lot of money).

    Its not a huge problem, but you'll have better control of your site on your own hosting. You would maybe (?) have SEO advantages with your own hosting, but I'm not certain.

    Just to clarify things, WordPress is free and decent hosting for a basic site could be $3-$10/month

    If you're content with how your doing right now, I wouldn't say you need to change how you're doing things.
