Greetings,

Some of the pages on my website are indexed in Google as follows:

hxxp://www.websitename.com/page/1

hxxp://www.websitename.com/page/2

hxxp://www.websitename.com/page/3
...

Rest of the webstie is indexed as normal:

hxxp://www.websitename.com/keyword-1

hxxp://www.websitename.com/keyword-2

I want to REMOVE these pages:

hxxp://www.websitename.com/page/1

hxxp://www.websitename.com/page/2

hxxp://www.websitename.com/page/3

As they are generating DUPLICATE pages on my website, google has dropped my ranking significantly. Whenever I create a new post on my website, google index it immediately (being one year old website) but also generates the DUPLICATE version as mentioned above (with /page/number in the end)

I don't see these pages in my wordpress installation when I check out "Pages" under Wordpress dashboard.

Any idea how to remove these duplicate pages?

As it is wordpress, it looks like you have a hierarchy of pages that's why you're having those url.

I'm sure there's a plugin that can work it out, or try putting a noindex to those pages to solve the problem.

You can also do a 301 redirect of similar pages to the exact page you prefer to rank for.

That's not duplicate content for a penalty.
I wish people would stop the insanity.
      Google choose which one naturally.
      It's no big deal.

If you can't get wordpress to work the
way you want to, ditch it like a bad habit.

Getting back to the topic, there are many ways
to get to web pages. It's done all the time. From
youtube to wikipedia. That's not "duplicate content."

Wordpress is a bear in getting to not "create"
links on the fly when it's built in to work that way.

Why people cannot just do a website, but must depend
on wordpress has always been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond
me. If people really knew how easy it was, to create and
maintain a website exactly the way you want, man, they
might actually become real webmasters of their own domain.

However, having said that, google and wordpress are both smart
enough to work with the standard code. No big deal.

I find it funny people don't like blogspot because they don't
want to be at the mercy of google. BUT...they readily bow
at the feet of wordpress, and cry out for the mercy of some
      miracle plug in.

For homepage recent post vs. pages, watch this:
Although I honestly don't believe Google would drop your ranking "significantly" just because of that, still you may just install a plugin like All-in-One SEO and check all those: "Use noindex for"
