Strange issue with Search Result

Hello All,
I am facing a strange issue with search results while targeting keywords.
We have a travel website where we post about travel destinations in India.. Site offers gallery, blogs, forums etc... Here is an example of the problem we are facing...
Target keywords: Korzok Village, (Search this keyword in Google)
We created a gallery with few images...
Then we posted an article about this place where we used these pictures..
We also added some tags (keywords) with the article.
When we posted this article.. We were getting the link of article on the first page of search result... later after couple of weeks, I have noticed that article is no more coming in search results...however we are getting gallery link on page 2 and tag link on page 3 of search results...
It has happened with many of our articles (but not all)... this issue is impacting our traffic significantly....
For these articles, I also did back-linking (mostly through comments in others blog)...
Is back-linking causing this issue ?
It's a drupal based website...
